Gotta go with the wife's favorites for this because I'm a guy, I have no idea how to rank them:
- The English Patient (I fell asleep in the middle so it must be one)
- Out of Africa
- Portrait of a Lady
- Howards' End (sensing a trend here, english romance movies?)

My suggestion might be something like Spy Game. Brad Pitt is about to be killed in a Chinese prison because he went off reservation to rescue his girlfriend who he loves so much he created his own special opp to break her out.

OK, what's the most romantic movie ever? I've been trying to think and it's tough. Yeah there are a million rom-coms but is that really romance? Not only can I not seem to be able to pick a favorite but I can hardly think of any serious (non-rom-com) movies that are truly romantic. At least not without being eye-rollingly, face-palmingly sappy. Prove me wrong, guys.
