I knew what H-R #1 was, I read the thread, Commander.

H-R #2, which is mildly embarrassing, is the subject we're pondering in an attempt to be amusing.

'Vark, if you paid attention, you'd remember that H.R. #1 was to not drink alcoholic beverages any more, and H.R. #2 (which is related to #1) is to not lie to his wife.
Well, that's wrong, but since you posted it, I assume everyone already understood it was wrong.

Absolutely correct, sir. Despite our American load-the-fuck-up-on-fluoride program.. if people don't bother to brush and floss often then it is all for not.

I need to find a new dentist now that my old one I have had for 30+ years does not take my insurance. At least I won't have to keep driving 40 minutes to get to the old dentist office anymore. Nothing wrong, but I try to visit for checkups every 2 years despite never having any adult checkup yet like bloodwork. That will be.. interesting.

It is not, but if it was, I know when it would happen.

There's already a thread in this base, titled "Hidden Resolution #2" which explains Hidden Resolution #2.

Hidden Resolution #1 is kinda silly, but slightly embarrassing. I will tell you what it is privately, if you ask me over PM or Discord or something,

Dude, you made the best Asteroids-inspired game that there is or ever will be. It wasn't marketable because you chose it to not be marketable. You could get that on Steam and get money immediately. That's an A, god dammit. That's an A!!!

Okay, here are the final grades for the 2020 Resolutions:

200 in 2020: My defining achievement for the year. Gotta go A+ on this one, there's no way around it.

Clean in '20: If this is Pass/Fail, then obviously it's a failure. However, I'll give myself some credit for the first three and a half months of the year, and sporadic forays into sobriety throughout the year: D.

Nonduality website: Though I only came up with three weeks worth of content, it was good content, and I'm happy with the results, even if there wasn't enough of them. B-

Learn and apply a new marketable technological skill: Well, I learned PICO-8. This is not a marketable technological skill. I did not grow professionally or educationally much this year, certainly not as much as I'd planned. D-

Develop something for IFCOMP 2020.: This one's easy. F

Do better dental care and see a dentist.: This went well, although there were still patches throughout the year where I let it go. Overall though, a fine showing: B+

See a doctor.: I did! I even went an extra time, which mostly consisted of the doctor trying to figure out why I was there again. A

(Hidden Resolution #1): Not bad, but far from perfect, I'm afraid. C-

(Hidden Resolution #2): This was pass/fail. PASS!

OVERALL: There was great success regarding things of a physical nature. There was not great success regarding much of anything else. I feel like the physical stuff was the top priority, though, so I'll weigh those heavier (so to speak).

I think it was a fine year.

B+

Fruit Booter! LOL

JK man those look kind of cool and I used to know a guy who would jump into the 12 foot vert ramp I used to go to on those things and do flips and shit. Totally insane.

In general I don't think "new years resolutions" do anything at all. New years is a social concept just like all of the other bullshit holidays people have come up with to help people through every year of our miserable nothing but work until we can hopefully retire somewhat comfortably as a sick old person lives. I think a new leaf can be turned over any day, even tomorrow December 10th if we so desire, we don't need an artifical date just some willpower or the true desire to make a change.

As such, here's my first draft:
- Strengthen my relationship with my sometimes distant friend, moderation.

- Assemble my Nordictrack recumbent exercise bike that I bought last year and start using it on a regular basis. Maybe sign up for an online peloton class to help with that.

- Start to climb out of debt. I've recently reduced my rent to just over $1800/month by escaping the Bay Areaa but Covid has been a huge problem for the clinical trial industry so commissions haven't been as lucrative as expected. Next year looks better though with first line workers getting a vaccine shortly so clinical trials seem to be roaring back and that will hopefully mean $$$ for me. First up, start paying down my credit card debt so those fuckers can get off my back.

- Work on my relationship. Have a pretty tumultuous relationship with the wife as we're both from dysfunctional families so we're both re-committing to working on better conversations, time outs during arguments, basically all the things that "Dear Abby" says people should be doing that we don't really at all.

- Enjoy nature again. California was a disaster for going outside. Whether it's the 100 degree weather, the fact that it takes 2 hours to drive anywhere fun, or (the last straw) wildfires surrounding us, we did not find CA to be a great outdoorsey place. While here in Everett WA, it has rained for 60 days straight but I know that there's a good 3 months coming up next year that will be great for hiking, walking by the water, biking (shit, I couldn't fit my bike in my moving pods so have to buy a new one), rollerblading (not the gay kind, check out these bad boys I sadly barely got to use in CA because it's too damn hot).

In the coming weeks, we will be doing a retrospective/post-mortem on the 2020 Resolutions, and then presenting the new ones for 2021.

Stay tuned, it's sure to be as exciting as you would imagine a list of resolutions would be!

Surprise. More people do not vote straight ticket than you probably would like to think about.

Not 100%, but I'm starting to suspect it'll never be 100% again. I'm walking without crutches by this point, while I do experience some aches and pains, it's generally in the morning.

Won't be running any marathons any time soon, but I hadn't run any before, so not a great loss.
