Surfer/Stoner shit from the same late 1990s era:

Quite a few of my friends that were into into rap also digged the ol Green Day. Most likely due to being stoned.
I still recall 1991 or 1992 some dude I'd never seen before rolled into Eastern Vert and had this CD. Everyone was freaking out about it and wanting to know if they could rip a copy.. to which he denied to all but one perhaps. Being a huge Fugazi, Ministry, and Sonic Youth fan at the time my first impression was "Hm, sounds kinda gay." yet it caught on with me eventually.
When "Dookie" was released I hated the videos after the 4th or 5th viewing. Basketcase video was even worse. Thank fuck they didn't make a video of "Burnout". The only time they did that on MTV they were introduced by Iggy Pop.. who imitated Billy Joe's jackoff guitar lick style while smiling and saying "I like this baaand.."
