Book Recommendation: The Sasha McCandless Series: Volume 1

Post by Tdarcos »

I've found a very Interesting book which is definitely worth reading, plus if you get it as an e-book it's free. It's The Sasha McCandless Series: Volume 1 (Books 1-3) by Melissa F. Miller. The first volume has 3 stories; the first story is Irreparable Harm, the second is Inadvertent Disclosure, and the third is Irretrievably Broken.

I've only read the first 24 chapters of the first story, but it's still a great story so far. The title character, Sasha, is a lower-level associate lawyer in a large Pittsburgh law firm. She's been assigned a major case: Hemisphere Air, a Pittsburgh-based airline, has had one of its planes on a flight from DC to Dallas smack into a mountain, killing all aboard, more than 150 people. But strange things are afoot. First, her client may have installed a device that the plane's manufacturer, Boeing, recommended against, and might have caused the crash. Second, Sasha requested - with the threat of a subpoena - the employment records of an employee from the Maryland company that made the device who was a passenger on the plane that crashed. Third, the HR employee called her to tell her he sent her a jump drive with the files, but the voice mail she got is apparently including the sound of him being murdered. She travels to the man's apartment in Maryland where she finds the door unlocked. Walking in, she is confronted by an armed man. In the space of about 1 second, the 5-foot-tall Sasha uses her Krav Maga training to break the man's nose, his trigger finger, disarms him, and ends up holding him at gunpoint (with his gun) before discovering he's a federal agent from Homeland Security also investigating,

The first three books of volume 1 are available free as an e-book for Amazon Kindle or Barnes and Noble Nook. If you don't have a Kindle, Amazon has free Kindle readers for Android, for Apple, and for PC. Barnes and noble has a Nook reader for Android but apparently doesn't have one for PC or Apple.
