Announce: The Polybius Home Page

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

I just created a page for the arcade game urban legend Polybius. Access it here. I got a hold of some new information, including a picture that I don't think anyone has seen before. (Not the Simpsons picture, but the one below it.)

I'm going to try to contact the guy who sent me the pic... but because you don't have to enter an e-mail address in order to send me and Bryan a note through the Trotting Krips site, I am not quite sure how I am going to go about it. I may very well be the meat in a alternate reality game sandwich, but if I am, experiment away!

Updated the page with two additional sites that I discovered tonight. One, the Polybius Theory website, is an excellent resource with some original research to all of this.

Haha. I still remember skimming Scotty's(he loves to be called scotty) polybius page and asking about the game before the stupid face screamed at me.
Good point Bobby!

I had a bad link for "The Polybius Theory". I corrected it. Check out that site, it's awesome.

I also received another mail from the guy who sent the picture to my Trotting Krips mail a while back. I'm checking out the address he gave me with the Milker tomorrow night.

Romey,

Jonsey is WAY out of control with all these websites he's creating. He really needs to just focus on one site, and do it right.

Sincerely,

Pinback.

Excellent use of the Romey. Well played! That might never be topped. I hope we can still use the Romey on JC, though.

I have my supplies to the trip to eastern Colorado. I have:

- 1 (1) flashlight
- 1 box of rations, iron
- water for the rations
- A shirt in case it's warm, a jersey in case it's cold
- no skepticism

The Milker has many of the same items, but also a machine gun and a box of AIDS. If this IS just an excuse to kill and rape two guys from the burbs, we are going out like we came in: with socially-crippling diseases.

He's gonna forget his name, address and V's birthday. Then strange men in black suits will come a-knocking on his door.

That video was AWESOME!

I recently received word from a fine man named Gerry that there is a Polybius cabinet in the following home arcade:

http://www.roguesynapse.com/collections/arcade.php

And that cabinet looks like the "classic" Polybius cabinet you may have seen elsewhere. I am going to update the main webpage here on JC with this information ASAP, but I wanted to get the image out there. Thanks for the heads-up, Gerry!

The Critic's Corner!
omfg you jackass, you are a disgrace to polybius, this was so fake and the polybius cabinet was ALL black with ony a white marquee, i hate you and if your going to make something like that, make it more realistic you idiot
The originator of this Youtube comment is fourteen. I would also like to state that the fake image he is talking about was desaturated... therefore making the marquee "white" only if you honestly don't understand the concept of black and white photography.

I honestly have absolutely no fear of ever losing my job to someone twenty years younger than me, at any point in the future. Teenagers today are some of the stupidest humans to ever walk the earth.

The average suburban white teenager is the scourge of the internet. Grammar and spelling aside, the simply formed, barely communicated ideas spouted forth from this sub-genre
are on a par with the most base of websites. Which is why the porn sites pander to them the most.

There are actually a lot of dumb comments on that video, which is what I expected (and the fact that it isn't going to win any Academy Awards helps) but a kid being so dumb as to not understand the concept of colorless photography really makes the whole thing worthwhile.

I am so glad I turn 20 next year so I can finally rid myself of all teenage associations.

You know, when I posted that I was trying to think if I was accidentally including anyone, but thought that I read that you and Worm were both in your twenties. I would now like to quote a video game.

Don't worry. I like to think of myself (however inaccurately) as a member of the group labeled "twenty-somethings."

And for the record, roughly 98% of YouTube comments cause me physical pain when I read them, as if the stupidity manifested itself as a hobnailed boot to the gonads.

All right. I don't want to sound any alarms. But one of you sent me that shirt. It arrived today. (Along with a B&W comic signed by the artist!)

The name for delivery was "RobB Sherwin," so I have my suspects. I am suspecting a couple of you.

(And let me say "thank you," of course. The shirt is awesome.)

I may never know who sent it. It would be very POLYBIUS to never know, wouldn't it? Well, WOULDN'T it!!?!?
