Er, I highly doubt he has any intent of sabotaging anything. It's kind of like publicity.. any kind of publicity is good, even if it's bad publicity.

Of course, I could be completely wrong.
JQW, care to clarify? Hopefully by then this thread will be in a different base and your reply will not get deleted

Now, I'm not deleting anything. Now I want that little peckerwood to come back in here and explain his disgusting behavior. C'mere, boy. Where's your beautiful, merciful maggot now?

Yeah, it was a big thing when you started this board. And it was a big thing when he registered. And posted.

Was it not?
I'm just kidding around with you. I was trying to renact that Seinfeld scene where he and Kramer discuss smoker's rights.

"Next you're going to be saying that they should have their own schools!"

"They do!!"

But for what it's worth I've long given up trying to get any of the old crew to post here. It would have been nice back in April of 02 when this place was dead, but it's not necessary or needed now. If Da King, JQW and the Real Man have better things to do, then good luck and God bless 'em. I like the lineup we currently have here and attempts to bring in people from Jeff's place that aren't already here is only going to cause problems and drama.

Don't get me wrong though! I quite like having you, Vark, Jamie, Jenny here. Heh.

Geez, saw that same episode of Seinfeld last night.

Anyways, obviously, Pinback can't take THE PAIN (tm). If I was really trying to sabatoge the BBS (which I certainly am not), I would not do it by pointing out what a limp-wristed loser Pinback is. Goodness knows, he does a better job of doing that than I ever could. The fact that I've posted a bit of relevant movie information lately proves that I'm not just trying to be a total troll.

Granted, I do want Pinback to know that he is my bitch, and always will be. You can't run away. You can't hide. You try and run, I'm gonna track you down. You go to a sysop, it's only gonna get worse. You sneak home, I'm gonna be under your bed. Deleting a post where I accuse you of pumping up a male sex doll is hardly going to help matters.

Anyways, I don't generally post here because much of the discussion isn't my style. I'm not into the ceaseless flow of phony messages by made-up users. Some "real" movie talk, and I joined in, before realizing that Pinback's M.O. was simply to shout down those who don't think that a turd like Magnolia is the greatest movie ever - when his moviegoing experiences, judging by his "reviews" page, have all the depth of the splash of jizz that Pee Wee left in that porno theater. To read my taunting of Pinback as part of a BBS war - well, it just ain't that way. ICJ is still (at least, last time I checked) a Best Bud, and huzzah huzzah or whatever.

That being said, my moderators have, to the best of my knowledge, never deleted any messages. I certainly never have, and never would. Even when one of the users was desperately trying to get me to delete some nasty mysogynistic posts he made before his girlfriend (who suddenly found the BBS) read them all and ripped him a new asshole... nope, they're all still there.

Deleting messages on an informal BBS like this is, well... pathetic. A serious miscarriage of etiquette. Were messages deleted from Wats-A-Mok? From The Truck Stop? From TAC Squad? From the Jolt Country dial-up BBS? Fuck no. Again, Pinback just can't take it. Especially to cower behind the "moderating the base to keep it on topic" idea - last time I checked, a lost cat doesn't fall under the topic of movies or sex.

(Note that, in the middle of all that, there is a movie reference for y'all to catch, just to keep things on topic.)

By the way, NOT deleting posts is what you do when your BBS is just so desperate for traffic that you'll take hyperlinked Viagra ads spammed twenty times on each base and just stare up at the BBS gods and thank them for the blessing of abundance.

DELETING posts is what you do when you KNOW your BBS is bad-ass, you DON'T need some fucking douchebag with a corncob up his cornhole coming in and fucking with shit, and you WILL not let scumbags taint your vision.

Wait a sec. Hold up. None of your moderators post anything either! When was the last time Da King, Aaron, Lex and whoever else started a message topic anywhere on the Internet? It's easy to have a history of non-deletion when half the guys are doing their impression of the silent BBS era.

Actually, I remember the last time that Lex started a thread. It was on Something Awful's forums, and it got closed by a mod and he got called out as a broke git by like 30 guys. Ah! Ah! Ah! I laugh because it stops me from tears.

Oh. While I'm at it. I will definitely be home from like October 3rd to October 12th. Chris Monahan ("danzaland" on here) is getting married, so I'll be in town for all that. Hopefully before then as well, but no firm plans yet.

Awesome! I look forward to Busting Shit Up in October, the month of terror. (Nine days for a wedding? Good Lord, I only asked people to come into town for 2-3 days!)

Hopefully before then, too. Well, depending on, y'know... "R.L." *

FWIW, Da King has occasionally started a thread on groucho. Rarely, yes - but he has. Big J aka Violet certainly starts plenty, is a moderator, and has not deleted anything. Straw hasn't, and neither have you. Quality moderators know that deleting messages that you and only you don't appreciate is nothing but abuse of power, as well as being terribly unfunny. But, apparently Pinback is not up for verbal sparring, so whatever. History will judge him, and it'll be a meaner bitch that Judge Judy. (Claiming that my site doesn't get many quality messages, looking at the primitive, sloppy, and disused mess that is his message board, is pretty funny, though.

* R. L. = Real Life, for the terminally unhip to the |<-R4d 133+ internetspeak. Specifically, in this case, Jonsey's R. L.

I am a moderator hear me roar. Not that my little japanimation forum has had much traffic; I actually got a couple of my friends to post up there so that it wouldn't be so dead. I post something up every couple of days to inspire conversation but alas my comedy stylings are not up to the upper crust groucho members liking. They enjoy talking about mowing the lawn, wood chips and fixing the house up.

I find that the humor on here is of a different sort than on groucho. You guys crack me up but instill fear in my little bbs heart.

And just remember JQW is my brother in-law so I actually have to deal with him in real life. Sometimes I wonder where he gets such a mean streak. I just like to shake my head and hope he doesn't twist my words around and make me out to be a loser. Well it will happen anyway.
The End

I haven't had a vacation yet this year, so I might as well take one of the weeks I've accumulated.

Hopefully before then, too. Well, depending on, y'know... "R.L." *
Yeah. Still no word on that. It's starting to get ridiculous. But I am optimistic.

FWIW, Da King has occasionally started a thread on groucho. Rarely, yes - but he has.
I mean in the base he's assigned -- the sports base or whatever it is.

Big J aka Violet certainly starts plenty, is a moderator, and has not deleted anything.
Well, this is because she's liquid sex on a keyboard. But you're right, natch, she has done a wonderful job over there.

Straw hasn't, and neither have you. Quality moderators know that deleting messages that you and only you don't appreciate is nothing but abuse of power, as well as being terribly unfunny. But, apparently Pinback is not up for verbal sparring, so whatever.

I am not sure why Pinback reads each one of your messages and writes the equivalent of "Well, I never!" I don't have an answer for that one, because I have seen him rip on people in the alt.music.rush newsgroup in ways that have been so complete and so scathing that seven years after the fact, I *still* feel bad for the guy that he was slashing.

(Claiming that my site doesn't get many quality messages, looking at the primitive, sloppy, and disused mess that is his message board, is pretty funny, though.
Let's not say things we can't take back about the PWC BBS. I BUILT THAT CITY ON ROCK AND ROLL

I like to mix it up, but only with people I like, or as in the case of a.m.r, felt a certain kinship to.

I genuinely loathe JQW, and thus do not feel like putting any energy into crafting page-long "word guillotines" which basically all just end up saying, "hey, you suck."

(Which he does.)

Sir! You wound me!

Ha! Just kidding.

I understand, who has time for page-long "word guillotines" directed at me, when there are messages about lost cats and Soft Batch love whinings to be written?

Hey, don't worry, I hear Nancy Drew might be interested in you. She likes 15-year-old boys... your lovelorn prose certainly fits the mold of a typical 9-10th grader with a crush. If not her, maybe that chick from Harry Potter.

Just stop posting things to me. Why can't you do that? Why can't you control your ridiculous compulsions? Just STOP it. It's not interesting, it's not entertaining, it's just boring, and stupid.

Leave me the hell alone, that's all I ask. I'll do the same thing in return.
