Except that all rap after 19XX sucks.

If it was done with country music it would have killed.

Or if the Bees were in it, even better.

Ok, just watched (and listened!) to the rap rountable one.

"Hey dad, can you come and get us? Everyone here is super mean"

was mildly funny in a too close to the truth sort of way.

I am irrationally angry that at the start of this thread, you people challenged me on the fact that I found cereal jokes funny.

I think in general if you think the only way to save a skit is to bring back characters from 45 years ago, SNL is no longer for you.

Is this in reference to the Chocula thing? I see now that Chocula is a hill that I, and only I, shall die on. That's okay, I am willing to die on that hill.

There is a knife in my back right now though. I ... I did not expect you to stab me regarding old things. Man, I wish there were more people around here that were interesting in all things Retro. Hmm? Ah.

Sorry, I should have quoted. This was in response to Aardvark's response. It's not personal or anything. According to Wikipedia, the Killer Bees appeared 11 times in the first season (1975) and then went away. If we were talking about boxing and someone said, "boy, boxing will always suck until they bring back Muhammad Ali," I'd say it's time to find a new sport to follow.

Okay, because I think that randomly having Barry Gibb be the host of a talk show is hilarious and always will be and it's great specifically because nobody had thought of Barry Gibb in years.

I like it when SNL goes silly. Monty Python's Flying Circus is probably the greatest sketch show of all-time and they were constantly, almost exclusively silly. I get to put on the face of an adult for most of my life and I rip it off to talk nonsense as soon as I am able. So here are a couple silly sketches that I enjoyed.

It has to be me. I watched the first one, about splitting the check, and it made no sense. I turned up the volume and watched it again and it was better but failed to make me laugh. Maybe there just isn't any funny anymore

That's a good point. As a counterpoint, I shall direct you to the thread title. A feeder say, Dr Bones!

No but I heard the ending is good, actually a lot of his stuff goes out with a bang.

A feeder say first appeared in a tweet I made 3 years ago when we were going to the Netherlands. I told the people that read it to get their clog orders in for me to bring back but remember they go by hardness not size, which always cracks me up and nobody else finds funny. However, me finding things funny by myself fits this thread.

I agree with the premise of this thread. While still not so great that I feel obligated to check in on it every week, the show has become more consistently funny than I really ever remember it being (as Flack and others have pointed out, even in its most lauded years, there was always a lot of stinkers to sit through). It's a nice turn of events!

What does buying a boat have to do with over the top innuendos? Is that a regular character on the show? Did that really make you laugh? I want to -get- the skit but it's not working. Help me Obi-Wan
