Wake-Up Wrap

Post by pinback »

During our trip to Chicago, I became a fan of the "Wake-Up Wrap" offered by Dunkin' ̶D̶o̶n̶u̶t̶s̶. Cheap, relatively light, simple and reliable. And they are easy to make at home! Even you can enjoy a Wake-Up Wrap, and it doesn't take longer than five minutes!

INGREDIENTS
----------------
1 fajita-sized flour tortilla
2 tbsp (or thereabouts) shredded cheese of your preference
1 egg
Other toppings of your choice (Dunkin' offers bacon or sausage, but go crazy!)

DIRECTIONS
--------------
1. Place tortilla on paper towel, spread cheese in a thin layer on top.
2. Scramble the egg using your favorite egg-scrambling technique.
3. Prepare other toppings, if using.
4. Place paper towel with tortilla in microwave, microwave for 20 seconds to soften tortilla and melt cheese.
5. Place egg and other toppings on one half of tortilla.
6. Fold over other half.

In this picture, I have opted just for a simple egg, cheese and green chile WAKE-UP WRAP. We all about the GREEN!

Right. There's no reasonable argument to the assertion that a Dunkin "wake-up wrap" (and the above picture) is just a breakfast taco. But I cherish those Chicago memories, so it's a wake-up wrap.
