This is a discussion / support forum for the Hugo programming language by Kent Tessman. Hugo is a powerful programming language for making text games / interactive fiction with multimedia support.

What I've been calling my "long project" is now "finished", meaning that it is playable from beginning to winning end, barring one game-stopping bug that I'm aware of but haven't yet looked into fixing very deeply.
I think I'll set this aside and try to make a simple, linear IF story after Christmas. Maybe I can even do a single-turn gag game or something.
If I do get my entry done, I'll put it up sometime on December 30th and post here and on Intfiction.
No sweat. I'll check with you before I release the games.
Along those lines: anyone (who is not in the HugoComp; I want it to be a surprise for my fellow Hugonauts) got a couple minutes to run through my game? It takes 5 minutes to play and there are no real puzzles.
I know of three HugoComp games! Baine threw me his tonight, I completed mine and fixed the stuff Flack found this morning, and one other guy is gonna mail me his tomorrow.
It would seem three is it? Now is a good time to speak up if you're almost done with a game.
I just finished mine in the last couple hours. I'm also submitting it to the New Year's Comp, so I don't think I'll post the link to it on intfiction, but I'd be happy to post the link here if people want it.
That's okay. There's always next time! I was going to be happy if we had three submissions. We met that goal, and a decent percentage of the submissions were from somewhat unexpected sources so the comp was a success in that respect, too.
Maybe we can do something similar at some point in 2012!
Right on. If you want, we could take it over to the ifMUD and put it on the bot Floyd. You could see people playing your game firsthand. I imagine some of the other Hugo Comp games will also be played that way at some point.
I have all the mechanics of the game working, just need to add some descriptions and tighten up the writing.
Robb, I'll send you a beta tomorrow to run through. It's a very simple game that is light on the fiction and lighter on the Interactive part. If there are 4 entries I hope to take 4th place.
