You are absolutely right here and I am completely wrong. How I've been treating you is inexcusable, and if I didn't make it clear enough in my last post here then I hope to make it clear now, I would like to apologize for all of it.

This was the shittiest and most retarded breakdown of anything I have ever read in my entire life.
Then you're due for an eye check. What is it with you lately? I say something, then you say something to the effect of "You're wrong, but either I can't explain why or I don't want to bother saying why and I don't want to admit either." You gave the most flippant dismissal of everything I said with absolutely no explanation of reasons why you disagreed with it.

If you're so smart and I'm so dumb, why don't you try educating me? Then maybe we could both benefit. You'd show your magnanimous generosity in allowing me to learn something and allowing me to understand how what I said was wrong, and I would learn where I had made a mistake.

But no, you didn't do that, you just dismissed everything I said as if it was so meaningless as to be beneath you to explain why, as if doing so was the equivalent of cleaning up someone else's vomit barehanded.

I said, (1) Some people here may have been a little thin skinned and maybe need to be a little more tolerant or understanding; (2) Finn was a nasty person but I have a thick skin; (2) Pinback seems to draw negative emotions but we still care about him; (3) Aardvark seemed to be excessively touchy for reasons I don't understand; (4) Jonsey's problem is we give him ulcers and headaches. According to you, all of this is wrong. The reason? Dead silence.

You seem to be physically unable to explain what I said that was wrong, misguided, or improper. Often this sort of behavior as you displayed is the hallmark of someone who doesn't want to admit the other person is right. If that isn't the case, then you could have offered us all a "teachable moment," and offered me the opportunity to learn from my mistakes and grow.

I think you're the one departing Uranus because what you just said makes no sense. It's a pure non sequitur. The result does not follow from the premise. Someone else made a one-line statement and I felt it was too long, and instead wrote 19 paragraphs. So, you're saying I think a long block of text is shorter than one line.

If you wanted to make a rational argument it would have been better if you had said that I talk too much, where someone else uses one line and i would uae several pages. That would have made sense.

When you can start making sense I'll start listening to you. Until then...

As an AArdvark supporter, I should have known better than to stoop to the level that I did there. I regret doing it. That is the sort of uncalled for nastiness that pinback supporters such as Casual Observer, The "Happiness" Engine, and RetroRomper always resort to. What a group of disgusting, horrible people they are. It makes me wonder how Finsternis ever got banned in the first place considering the norm here.

Well, of course you took him for granted. Some emotions are too powerful to sustain for long periods, like gratitude, if you try to force them you can get worn out.

I think some people here need to grow thicker skin, maybe be a little more tolerant even if - or especially if - the other person is being an asshole. People make mistakes, and that can cut both ways, both in someone doing something and in other people's reactions to them and their behavior.

I mean, for example, take myself and my opinions of others. (Or don't take them if you disagree.)

Finn was an irritating prig but I could live with him. I never asked for him to be banned, I actually had fun with his deflections. In almost every case, when he accused or criticized someone here, he had been doing the exact same thing. And he accuses me of being afflicted by the Dunning-Kruger effect! (I also knew of what it was before he mentioned it.)

RetroRomper has never said anything Insulting to me and I have, in fact, found his comments often entertaining. I hope to see more of his content in the future.

Pinback is a hate sink, of course, which is why we love him so much. Outside of maybe me, he gets a lot of negative energy here. Whether or not that is deserved is a subject I'm not going to investigate at this time.

Aardvark, I don't know, seemed to be a bit too sensitive, maybe that's related to his drawings. Or perhaps he was upset at the symbols picketing him, especially when i pointed out to them he's not in the collective bargaining agreement.

And then there's Jonsey, whose biggest expense in having this board (and Caltrops) is not the hosting costs or the HTTPS certificate or the problems with PHPBB, it's all the money he has to spend on cases of Maalox and Zantac for the ulcers the users cause him, and the bottle or two of aspirin a day he has to take because of all the headaches he has to deal with. I understand it's so bad he has his pharmacy on speed dial to let them know to order more supplies.

"I guess this was a bad week to quit snorting coke."

AArdvark really left? I thought this was all some kind of inside joke or something. He was our biggest content creator behind Flack. So are we just going to pack it up now? Is it time to just pack all of it up and move on with our lives? Is this over?

Oh, and this is definitely not your fault, Robb. You just forgot to do something. No lives were lost and it should not have been a big deal.

Are you really wondering how that is? Is that the question you wanted to ask, Drinky the Drunk Guy?

HOW IS IT that I promised myself that and am now drinking beer.

Well, I made a number of New Years Resolutions, and I stuck to some, and not to others. That's HOW IT IS, you oozing sack of shit.

"How is it". What an asshole. What a jackass.

How is it. How is it now, fuckhead?

I don't think Ben's goal was to become an absolute teetotaler. It was more about changing his mindset so he wasn't looking to food and alcohol to find happiness given that those things are incapable of providing anything but momentary escape. I doubt that mindset has changed, but he might be lapsing back into old habits a little bit which is a very, very easy thing to do.

Pinback is right. I had moved it to the Best of Base.

I will move the offending post.
