Cool.

Is it fixed?

People shouldn't feed feral cats that aren't fixed, they have no natural predators except cars and they kill millions of birds a year.

Off and on yeah. There was another cat that kept coming around that looked like it was from the same family that I was feeding.. then he just started showing up! Haven't been able to get him to come back inside yet, but just good to know he's still alive.

whoa, that's great! Buddy, I'm sincerely happy for you. I don't even have jokes. Had you been putting food out for six months? You are my new cat hero if so.

Apparently some Tampa Bay hockey fans were watching the Stanley Cup finals on tv and they yelled for the player to shoot! shoot! and a neighbor heard them and called the police

The NBA finals are being played at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida. The NBA had the courts updated to meet the requirements of the NBA playoffs, and are now part owners of the court. The ads have nothing to do with the stadium owners being greedy. The logos are virtual because they are changing them between games and don't have time to change things like each team's logo.

It does when whatever money is made from either revenues from television (if the owner is requiring this) or purchased advertisements (if the broadcaster is) apparently regular advertising breaks aren't enough, they have to resort to pasting ads during the program on the floor.
Flack wrote: Mon Sep 28, 2020 5:36 am Floor advertisements are not cheaper than floor advertisements.
I'm not sure what you're saying, I'm saying they have to resort to putting virtual advertisements on the floor.
Flack wrote: Mon Sep 28, 2020 5:36 am The NBA is the stadium owner.
I call bullshit. Sports stadiums are usually owned by the team or a real estate investor, or the municipality where the stadium is located. The Los Angeles stadium - Staples Center - where both basketball teams play is owned by AEG, which owns a number of stadiums and is not part of the NBA.

Ted Leonsis, owner of the Washington Wizards, owns the company that owns the Verizon Center, where the team plays.

Name one - just one - stadium used to play basketball where the owner of record is NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION, INC. of New York.
Flack wrote: Mon Sep 28, 2020 5:36 am They are not using green screens or blue screens.
I did not say it was chroma key, I said it was similar, in that the computer handling video is supposed to know what the floor looks like and only replace the pixels that are the floor so it looks like the ad is on the floor, not across the players, as it happened in the above image.
Flack wrote: Mon Sep 28, 2020 5:36 am I'm sure you got some other things wrong but I haven't had my coffee yet.
Well, so far, it looks like, for once, I didn't get any wrong.

Please stop hijacking ICJ's thread, it's getting absurd.

Paying $750 in federal taxes is absurd.
Can you provide the source of the documents or even the documents themselves?

Tdarcos wrote: Mon Sep 28, 2020 3:57 am The "transparent players" problem is related to marketing (and greed). There are some sponsors who want their logos to appear during games. They don't want to pay for a (probably more expensive) placement on the walls (or the floor) of the stadium, or the stadium owner doesn't want logos cluttering up the floor (or they're not allowed). So it's been discovered the broadcaster can use the equivalent of chroma key (green screen or blue screen) to allow advertisements to appear.

Now, it's more sophisticated, they can target a specific part of the floor and create a virtual advertIsement in that spot. The computer is supposed to not put the ad in spots that don't look like the floor, but when something goes wrong, the ad gets pasted over everything, and thus the ad "bleeds" onto the players. The ad is only virtual, if you were in the audience at the stadium, you would not see it.

Good point. I honestly thought that was two years ago when I saw the screen shot. But no.

I would also like to add "see-through basketball players during the NBA finals."

Speaking of weird shit, lately I've been having serious diarrhea every day. In fact, I want to tell you guys all about it. First, it consists of black, liquefied

[The remainder of this message has been deleted for discussing things decorum prohibits mentioning. We do not want to hear about that literally weird shit!]

No hurricanes in my area fucking up anything aside from the water clarity this year. (We expect at least 2 every season)

2 years ago about this time I spent days drying out a trailer that was floating in 4 feet of water.

Aside from the coronamania and Cat Dracula running off last month, 2020 is OK I guess. Could be worse!

No. If we did this wouldn't be Weird Shit in 2020 :P

No idea what the naming rules are either. They named this one "Janus", so I think they use names of Gods, maybe?

Ice Cream Jonsey wrote: Sat Sep 26, 2020 6:53 pmDo you give them names after broads like we do
We don't name them after broads. A government agency compiles a list of names in advance, something like a hundred names or so from all genders and backgrounds, and just applies them in sequential order as they hit. Over 95% of the storms aren't even news worthy in the bigger sense so nobody hears that particular name being used.

https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutnames.shtml

Also, I'm going to have to insist that this gets discussed in "Huh. (Well, that's a thing.)" since what we are talking about here is a thing and not a one off event.
