Definitely would recommend using a walkthru for certain areas as you can end up stuck or whatever with exception to the last disk. Do not even look at it past disk 2 (the last hard puzzle involves a steam room. It took a friend coming over and seeing an object for me to click on before I could continue).

The theme in this game is so hard to grasp. Like it points it feels like Leather Goddesses of Phobos 2 (I can't even remember if I finished that. Don't think so), then it feels like a Twin Peaks movie, then some awfully scripted Troma movie, then all of a sudden BOOM!! MORTAL KOMBAT LEVEL VIOLENCE. This shit is all over the place which is why I really enjoyed it.

I still don't quite understand why a text parser is included when you can click verbs and never have to type a custom line of text..
I was just thinking how, if you haven't played it, you should definitely check out the game Sanitarium. It's not as depraved as Harvester, but it really goes into some interesting places. I don't think I got around to playing it until like the late 00s and, based on its release date (1998), I remember thinking that its storytelling was very much ahead of its time.

I'm playing through some weeb JRPGs now. They're not that funny so I'm making them funnier myself:

Well, I'm glad to hear that someone finished it. I don't think I'll ever install it again- not because it offended me so much but because the game design is harsh and it's pretty easy to mess everything up (if I recall correctly), and they did a pretty good job at making it a pretty unpleasant place to poke around in (which is partly the point). Still, I'll always consider it fascinating.

Too bad we didn't discuss this sooner or else I would have thrown in the original CDs to this game with that package I sent you the other year!
I finally got this for less than a dollar from Steam and oh man does it deliver lol. It's weird, gross, and funny as hell. I'm a little stuck about 2 hours in but I plan on sticking with it.

"The House of FLAME" lolol

ROFL too infected by the Nanophage to enjoy the game.

Yeah man, >Observer was one of my favorites. I really do wish they would make a sequel to it. My only complaint was that I wanted a bit more freedom of movement and more people to interrogate. Not much of a complaint at all really.

I don't remember seeing that game before. The old FMV games have a certain appeal to me as well, although I don't seek them out for fear of learning to hate what I like, ha.

If you haven't played it, I'd recommend the semi-recent game >Observer. It doesn't have FMV, but just the same, it made me feel like some FMV game developers had fallen into a coma in the 90s, only to wake and create the weirdness that is that game. Plus, it's one of Rutger Hauer's final roles.

I have a soft spot for FMV adventure games with really bad acting. Some people like to play Cyberpunk 2077. Some people like to play God of War. Me, I like to play motherfuckin' SYNNERGIST:

Ooh, FMV adventure. I like those. The worse the acting, the better.
