No, I thought that was a pandering, poorly written book that was basically nerd blackface, and the 15 minutes I made it into the movie was the cringiest shit I've ever seen in my life. If what I described is what people are doing in the book, I will throw the treadmill and 2600 down the mountain, delete this thread and sign up for whatever mailing list the Syracusian Domestic Terrorist got his ideas from.

Treadmill and video games, now that's cool. Did you feel a little like that guy in Ready Player One?

This is a beautiful port of Lode Runner for the Atari 2600.

I have a treadmill in front of the TV, and the 2600 hooked up to it. I am using a modern 2600 joystick that works perfectly well, it would not surprise me if the original 2600 joystick is even sharper for this. There are modern features to this modern port like unlockable levels and using the 2600's toggle buttons to pause the game and such (instead of switching between color and black and white).

It is going to be a dark, cold winter where I live. I'd like to break the cycle of losing out on exercise because it's so cold and so dark. I am well situation to just turn my brain off and walk and play some Lode Runner and other games and mis-step and fall off the goddamn treadmill and break my neck. That action is the "gold standard" of modern day treadmills.

I got my steps in today. For an evening, things are cozy.
