The arcade world high score record crowd is weird, man. Soooo much drama over who's playing or cheating the best at games nearly as old as I am.

I know about that one! Mitchell is suing Karl Jobst, an Australian YouTube journalist who covers video games. Jobst reports Mitchell is a fraud and did not accomplish what he claims he did. Mitchell is suing Jobst for defamation (the legal name for libel and slander). For anyone that's interested, Jobst reported on this and asked his audience for help with his legal fees, which people have contributed. His videos show exactly what he states, the evidence shows Mitchell could not have done what he claimed. Unfortunately, unlike the United States, truth is not an absolute defense in defamation cases.

You can watch his videos and see for yourself. Here is a link to the playlist of his videos about the suit:

In this video, another YouTube video game journalist, penguinz0, was called as a witness in the case against Mitchell. His video about it is here: and one of the things he said was, "It's no secret I don't have much respect for silly Billy Mitchell, in fact, I have more respect for piss stains in a public gas station toilet than I do for Mr. Billy Mitchell."

There is a similar place in Penfield, on Penfield Rd across from the Pour House.

Hell yeah! It sounds a lot like the "basement arcade" I frequent. 15$ (used to be 10) for 3 hours. No game newer than 1984. Snack bar with hot dogs too! It's literally like a time warp every time I walk into there.

Let us know when you check it out!

SPENCERPORT, N.Y. (WROC) — Coming to Spencerport this Saturday, is a new all-ages hangout: Eric’s Retro Arcade! It’s at 38 Slayton Avenue, right across from the Tops. The business is open Wednesday through Sunday, from the afternoon until evening.

Eric Vazquez, the owner, has built a cozy spot with original arcade games from the late 70s into the mid-80s.

This is a renewed passion for him. He loved arcade games as a kid, took a break, and when his landscaping business took off, he began buying them.

He eventually ran out of space to store them, recalling that he had a “full house” of arcade games… So he turned this passion into a business.

At “ERA,” all the machines are free to play, but you pay a $15 ticket when you come in. Candy and soda are for sale, and Vazquez is building the event and console gaming space in the back.

His soft opening started last weekend.

“I’m really excited actually… The love and support we’re getting from the community is truly truly amazing,” he said. “I posted originally when I was interested in pursuing this on the Spencerport community blog… And we’re seeing a lot of love, it’s really cool.”

The grand opening is this Saturday starting at 2 p.m., and Vazuqez will have some free pizza on hand.

Vazquez is no slouch at playing the games either. He told News 8 that is he No. 7 in the world on the arcade game “Popeye.”

As the business continues to grow, Vazquez plans to have a number of notable arcade gamers come and visit the store.

One of those gamers, Billy Mitchell — best known for his perfect score at Pac-Man and his role in the “The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters” documentary — even sent Vazquez a video congratulating him on his opening
