Game 10: Zwackery (Midway, 1985).

Wikipedia and KLOV says 1984. Mobygames says 1985. The manual I found a PDF has Roman numerals, but I translated them. I did it for you. 1985.

I want this goddamn monstrosity in my garage arcade. Someday.

Game 9: Abuse (Crack Dot Com, 1995).

https://www.joltcountry.com/index.php/f ... t-com-1995

There is no agreement as to whether this game was released in 1995 or 1996, so I went with 1995. I also have a distinct memory that the protagonist was called "Dr. Nick Vrenna" in the game's initial crawl, but I cannot find any evidence of this.

If you have Nick's university transcripts, please let me know. I think he did the "doctor shooting everything" well before Gordon Freeman in Half-Life but I can't prove it. I don't like that Nick Vrenna was trying to complete his Ph.D when the events of Abuse happened, because then it means that it was a school shooting game 3 years before Columbine. THIS CAN GO DIFFERENT WAYS

Rocket Jockey looks interesting. Had never even heard of it.

Also my post on Caltrops was a bad one. I do not care for a lot of my forum posts from 2008.

Thank you. That was an error. I am having a really difficult time copying and pasting lately. I think it's because I switch from Apple keyboards, for work, to the home one and the location of the key is different. I have no idea why the href was just "k" and no idea why Wordpress just defaults you to the first entry with a "k". Kind of, sort of a bug or something?

I appreciate the feedback. Thank you!

In that article, the name of the game links to your opinions about Wrath of Khan. Either that's a mistake or it's a joke I'm not getting. I could be the problem here!

Anyway, these are fascinating retrospectives about long-forgotten, or in many cases, unknown games! I am enjoying it!

I reviewed Madden 99 for the PC .... once.

https://www.joltcountry.com/reviews/r-mad99.htm

That review says that I hated Madden 97 for the PC. I don't think I have tried it for the Saturn or PS. But the .ROM is around here somewhere.

Thank-you for the suggestion!

I wanted to have 4 "in the can" before starting this project. And I did. And the last one of them goes up tomorrow. And I haven't started the 5th one yet. So, I'm listening to requests.

heh, like Flack mentioning the DND computer game got him interested in lock-picking.. Return to Castle Wolfenstein (the first engine upgrade after Wolfenstein and the add-ons for MS-DOS) totally got me sucked into wanting to learn more about German everything. Between playing that and listening to Rammstein while I created the "Return to Flood Control Dam #3" map based on the location from Zork, as well as loving the German section of Busch Gardens and making German friends on the Internet.. I can maybe speak and understand sub-elementary level lol. Maybe 2x as much as you! haha

I still think it's an awesome language, and it can be sort of easy to grasp simple stuff as a lot of English is based in it. An old Australian friend that ran into me a few years back and wanted to speak some German as he knew I was into it. At that point I was embarrassed because I had lost the extreme interest I used to have and had gone back to trying to remember/know more Japanese. In retrospect, I feel like I made the right decision.
