Yeah! And I, like, won't be able to be there for it! Be leavinfg for a week, you understand. Won't be back until next Tuesday afternoon, you understand. So could you, you know, wait until I'll be back with a stable internet connection so I can watch it? KTHXBYE^__^

Hangin's less messy than pills and more dramatic, although not as good as, say, self-immolation. But, really, who cares about mess? Are you worried about getting your security deposit back?

by Jack Straw » Mon Apr 19, 2004 11:12 am

Agreed. Spilling of blood will be required to secure my viewership.

by Worm » Mon Apr 19, 2004 11:07 am

Well, you might as well not even stream it if it is suicide by pills.

by Jack Straw » Mon Apr 19, 2004 10:45 am

You could do like that guy who set a guillotine on a timer and fell asleep under it.

by Linus Torvalds » Mon Apr 19, 2004 10:40 am

Please could you fly a plane into SCO's offices?

by Joe Mason » Mon Apr 19, 2004 10:04 am

Have you considered a penknife?

Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp.
Acids stain you,
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren't lawful;
Nooses give.
Gas smells awful--
You might as well live.

Again, though, I'd like to move this along fairly quickly.

by Uncle Sam » Mon Apr 19, 2004 7:47 am

Why not just join the army and die in Iraq?

by pinback » Mon Apr 19, 2004 7:44 am

Hmm. I was thinking pills. Boring, you say? Everything else is so messy, though.

by Worm » Sun Apr 18, 2004 9:28 pm

How are you going to off yourself? I mean, pills would be boring :(.

by Vitriola » Sun Apr 18, 2004 9:44 am

But probably a more realistic tone than not. Streamed killings are just a big Hey guys?!? done in a way that will ensure viewers. Do you have a webcam?

Would it be a problem if we moved this date up just a bit? Because that's like, ten days away? And: god.

I'd do it now if there were more people online to participate. I refuse to do a suicide post like:

"Hey, anyone there? Uh. I dunno if anyone's online or whatever, but here goes... Wait, I'll wait five minutes, then hit Refresh, and then we'll see. Okay? PM me if you are there but signed in as a guest."

That's not setting the right tone.

Well, I suppose there's the balad of shame and wasted lives, although their forum is mostly just a big group of the same people talking about stuff. If you show up out of nowhere just to advertise your website, they'll probably be a little irritated, so it might be better to, like, introduce yourself too, and stuff. Also: don't mention my name. Long story, but they don't like me much over there. At all.

http://www.rllmukforum.com/ are the forums everyone fled to once the Edge forums went offline in the UK. Edge being the "adult" games' mag out here. As in, really adult. It's like Modern Scientist for D&D nerds.

Some of the work of RLLMUK: www.ukresistance.co.uk is always worth a look for the occasional hilarity (not much this week) though a little bit in-jokey (no-one outside the UK is gonna know who Kieron Gillen is, for example).

For a good example, check out

http://www.consolevania.com/

It's released as a DivX every month. Ep 1 is cool.

Here's an example of just how astoundingly adult the place is; people were talking about the best endings in games, and I talked about Creature Shock and Shrapnel. People actually went and played Shrapnel because a newbie suggested it, and did not go "LORFL A TXT ADVENTAR!!" They also agreed it was moving, so that's nice.

Hey, I am in the market to put up some banner ads for a certain, other, web-venture I have going.

Do any of you guys know of forums or websites where the idiot quotient is pretty low? It doesn't matter to me what the topic is -- sports, cars, cooking, blahblahlah. I just want to put a link up and those people at said forum who also like computer and console games will find themselves a nice new website to visit.

(FWIW, it's not JC that I am linking. There will probably be an influx of new users after April 26th if I hit the release date for the game I am working on, so the problem of this place being dead will solve itself. The thing I do wonder about, however, is whether I should bother advertising the new game to sites that deal with D&D and role playing games, as that is one of the themes in it. But that I can research on my own time.)
