I know that GNUChess has a remote-display option for spectators as well as players. Check SourceForge; I'm sure there are plenty of things.

Oh, and if I was going to do a sort of Chess-center analysis "turning point" in our game, it was when you started obsessing over my queen like a creepy stalker stalking creepily. Made it pretty easy to predict where your pieces were going to be every turn. Up until then I'd wasted way too much time floggin my bishop, trying to get the old "four move checkmate" (the only formal offense I know [:(]) position set up, which you were having none of.

I'd be all for something like what Ben's suggesting. I can pretty much identify my (few) strengths and (many) weaknesses in the game but, generally, I only play maybe twice a year and have never had any sort of real instruction in the game past my dad teaching me the rules when I was a kid.

Don't know how to help you with the board, though. How were you keeping track in our game, Robb?

Kidding! Kidding! Kidding...

OK, I would be all for that. I need to devise a way of getting board positions updated after every turn, though. Something we can all reference.

I can't believe no one has ever not made a quick Java chess-display thinger before. Someone must have.

But yes, getting some advice would be good. I thought I had Debaser in an ineviable position before he left work, and then my entire world collapsed around me.

How about instead you take yourself out on a date and go fuck yourself?

If you'd like, we can engage in a "teaching game", where no egos are at stake, and the participants and spectators can feel free to make constructive comments, ask questions, and bring some humility not to each other, but to the game of THE CHESS itself.

Okay, I concede this game as it's basically just me moving my maggot king around until he can find a place to hide. And unless there is a variant of chess called the "trap door escape" or the "attachment of the suicide bomb backpack explosive" I'm doomed.

I need to consider why I have lost five straight games, now, and give it another go.
