Nobody still needs any invites, right?

by Vitriola » Sun Oct 10, 2004 5:25 pm

Hugella, got my invite, thanks!

Wow, you guys should take some pictures just to sell to a fetish site.

What is the chance of you becoming really prolific outside alt.erotica.bleeding-eyes?

As soon as I get a tan and my eyes stop leaking blood.

Demand pix. That's faire, right? Some pictures of V for an e-mail account?

I will give you two G-mail invites for pics, Vitriola!

by Hugella » Sun Oct 10, 2004 10:02 am

Er, that was me above.

Vitriola, email the same address I gave worm. DO NOT, however, send an email with subject: WORM-MAIL, no body text. It immediately got sent to the spam can before I realized what it was. :)

Anyone else got any? I guess at some point I should switch my general email address from the domain name of a company that hasn't been in existance in 2 years.

by Worm » Sun Oct 10, 2004 9:09 am

Good guess there, RobB.
So, uh, you get the one I sent you?

Bruce

Also! On the down low, if oyu will, I think I need a certain serial number for a certain thing I certainly mentioed a while back that's certainly none-too-moral, if oyu're "digging my ditch here and I think you are".

I wanted to get in when I could still get my name (without having to add nonsense numbers to it). Also I wanted a free email service that isn't yet inundated with spam and I can make sure not to use to sign up for anything. I've had a rocketmail account since before yahoo bought them and always liked the account except that I get thousands of spams a day there by now.

I also get a kick out of the fact that "privacy watchdogs" have a problem with gmail's features and have protested - fuck them. 1000 gig for a free email is nice and it's cool that gmail forced all the others to up their storage from 2mb or 4mb or whatever to something actually usable.
Yeah, Google will eventually become terrible and evil -- all publically corporations do -- but in the meantime it's nice to have some wiggle room in saving content. Juno, who I stopped using because they wanted to reserve the right to run shit on my computer in the same way that SETI@Home did had me down at aroun a megabyte last I checked. A meg! What a joke.

Good for Google. They gave us free stuff in terms of a nice browser for the longest time (God, thank CHRIST we don't have to go through Yahoo's ridiculous submittal process any longer... what a broken and worthless system) and now free e-mail. I hope they make a ton of money off their ad programs, especially since they're practically transparent.
