Plus, it beats what we were talking about before, which was nothing.
My 2 cents.

Programmer with the analyst tag is somebody who also has the ability to design software.

Software Engineer is vague and I consider it a BS title.

Terms are misleading. Every computer-related job here at the University is listed as "programmer/analyst", no matter what it is (even my sysadmin job is officially listed as that).

Skillzzzz

Analyst = testing and QA type work

Engineer = Development and programming

I could be wrong, but that is the way I see it. I have done the Analyst route before and it requires reporting bugs and developing procedures of the software or platform.

Hope that helps.

Can I go on break now please?
