I agree that roulette needs more horses.

Hopefully Roody has something to say on the topic, otherwise this thread will die.

Wikipedia wrote:If a player bets on a single number and wins, the payout is 35 to 1. The bet itself is returned, so in total it is multiplied by 36. (In a lottery one would say 'the prize is 36 times the cost of the ticket', because in a lottery the cost of the ticket is not returned additionally.)

In 2004, Ashley Revell of London sold all of his possessions, clothing included, and brought US$135,300 to the Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas and put it all on "Red" at the roulette table in a double-or-nothing bet. The ball landed on "Red 7" and Revell walked away with his net-worth doubled to $270,600.
I would like to point out that you were right, but that it is not like this in like almost any other form of gambling, like horses. The odds are not on top of getting the original bet back.

The least degenerate person here verifies the behavior of gambling degenerates.

I looked it up on a web page when you first posted this, which said it's "even money," so yeah, $20.

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Sun Apr 02, 2006 12:55 pm

Okay, the answer is -- you get $20 back. Someone please confirm this.

Roulette tables.

Can someone please tell Vitriola what happens in the following scenario? I know what happens, but she doesn't believe me.

o A guy puts a $10 chip down on a roulette table for BLACK.

o The number BLACK 7 is hit.

... Now. How much does the dealer give the player? I'm not talking profit, I'm talking total. $20? $10? Or $0?
