Makes me wonder how much BIZ-DEV really happens by this method of marketing.

And for that matter, how many people are giving their bank account information to Nigerian scammers? Apparently enough to make it a viable business opportunity over there. It must be more lucrative than laying in the dirt and/or shooting children.

Uh, why can you not imagine that it automates the confirmation e-mail as easily as it automates the entire registration process? The point of the catchpa is that it makes the entire process harder, and lowers the guy's overall spam commission.

Yeah, I nuked the first post of the thread, which was from a spammer who took the time to register, click the confirmation email, log in and then send out his desperate plea for money. I couldn't sell babies to the Children of Men on here, but some dumb fucker thinks we're all going to buy viagra or whatnot by clicking on a link we saw that drop.

did I miss something or what

That guy registered and answered his confirmation e-mail by hand. There are captchas for guests, and that works perfectly. There is little you can do if some fucking loser is out there actually clicking on the e-mail the BBS sends them by hand.

Does it matter if captcha's are effective or not? Why don't you just fucking install one?
