Call him "Scooter."

Let me clear up something that might have been misleading. Right now we are only "foster parents", and only for the next month or so. That means, the rescue still pays for everything, and they're still looking for people to adopt him outright.

That being said, I would not be surprised if events occur such that the fostering becomes a longer-range thing. We're not planning on it, but... I wouldn't be surprised.

I think we will be calling him Parker, though I usually come up with my own nicknames for our animals:

The Dog
---------
Real name: "Jengo"
I call him: "Dumbass", "Idiot", "Douchebag"

The Male Cat
-------------
Real name: "Miles"
I call him: "Idiot", "Stupid", "Boy"

The Female Cat
-------------
Real name: "Maya"
I call her: "Stupid", "Douchebag", "Girl"

Broken Puppy
--------------
Real name: "Parker"
I will likely call him: "Dumbass", "Gimpy", "You Retard", and possibly: "Douchebag"

Right now my name is Parker, but a short time ago I was lovingly called Runty. I am a Sheppard mix puppy. I am one of 11 in my litter and spent six weeks with my mother, brothers and sisters at our foster mom's house. Since I was the runt of the litter I was smaller than my brothers and sisters. They fluctuated between using me as a pillow and protecting me to using me as a chew toy and picking on me. All my other brothers and sisters have been adopted. I have not been adopted because my back legs do not work well. I have to scoot around to move. About a week ago my foster mom took me to a local vet to see what was wrong with my back legs. He checked me out, took some x-rays and referred me to a neurology vet in West Los Angeles. This doctor took more x-rays and examined me some more and told my foster mom that I have some kind of degenerative spinal condition. She said that only an MRI would give her a better indication of what was wrong. Now I have a safe haven at New Leash On Life. I am now 11 weeks old and about 11 pounds. Although I have a safe place to stay, I still need an MRI to check my spine, vet visits and, in my case, not so usual medical care. I would appreciate any donations to help my new family provide for my well being.
This is the saddest thing I have ever read. Putting it in the first person is evil. That being said, you two are frigging ANGELS for adopting him. Holy shit. You two are really good people.

What's his name going to be??

We just got our fancy new TV hooked up yesterday, and our fancy new audio system hooked up, and I just bought Tiger Woods '08 to bring home and play on the new stuff, AND we got the BROKEN PUPPY home to foster, and this will be his first night in the house.

It doesn't get any SWEETER than this!
