Really? Hmm. Pushing Daisy is trying really, reeeally hard to be clever. It gets about 85% of the way there, too. You watch it, you think: man, I don't know how much more of this clever-sweetness I can take, and yet you do. You take it. You surprise yourself. Despite the fact that you're aware of how hard it's trying.
Once they have a couple of episodes about what the show is *about*, though, I wonder what the show is going to, you know, be about. It's going to turn into Murder She Wrote, is my fear. Murder She Wrote, with brighter digital color-correction, and more clever-sweetness.
I mean, it's all right. It's probably, even, the best of the new shows on network this fall.
But it ain't no Dexter, son.
