The best part is that they indignatly defend their system. Yeah, if you are pre-charging someone $20 for gas, sure, go crazy. Some poor fellow trying to get $400 worth of monitors may not want his credit card tied up like that.

I have no idea why Happ even sells to the general public. Their prices are ridiculous, their website hard to navigate and they actually looked at the trillions of credit card transactions that the rest of us did and shook their head, said, "No... no... there has to be a BETTER way! "

I'll tell you something else that makes me sick, the whole "show ID when paying with a debit card." Which has really taken off lately and completely against merchant agreements. If I didn't have a million other things going on, I'd start reporting businesses around here.

Gas stations pre-confirm, from what I've heard. So do restaurants. Maybe not now, but, a few years ago, if you offered card, they pre-confirmed for $20. Just to know you had something. The details are sketchy, but I have never heard of a pre-confirm being added to the bill when the final total was rung up, and then deleted or the like. Huh? Sounds like someone got some programming wrong.

Happ Controls makes most of the arcade parts you'd need to restore or fix a machine, but man do people hate buying from them.

The latest is a "dual credit card charge" thing they seem to be engaged in:
I placed an order with Happs a couple days ago for 4 monitors and a few other items. At the time I ordered the sales rep ran my credit card and said it went through and everything was good. I get a phone call today from happs saying my credit card was declined and they cant process the order. I told them it was already run when I made the initial call. They try to say that it was a preconfirmation and it gets billed when the order ships. They said the original charge gets dropped in a few days.

So basically I had enough credit on my card to make this purchase but when they try to double charge me it gets declined because it exceeds my limit. This is the most retarded thing I have ever ran across in my life. After spending 4 hours today calling back and forth from happs to my CC company I finally called back and told happs to cancel my order and delete my account info because I will never be ordering from them again.
Is that even legal, charging a "preconfirmation"? Pretty ridiculous.
