That was a pretty cool song.

I love that song he sang on U2's Zooropa album, "The Wanderer."

I dig both versions actually.

I got the CD that Johnny Cash's Hurt is on and most of them are cover songs but they all are damn good.

Wow, that was beautiful. I mean, if Trent Reznor and Johnny Cash were in one of those celebrity superfight things where the internet votes for who wins, I'd probably wind up voting for Trent because he's from "mah generation" and all that, but I've got to hand it to Johnny for taking a song that was basically a well put together mash of directionless angst and actually making it about something. Plus you've got to like any oldagenarian who even knows who Trent Reznor is (aside from a Satan Worshipper).

here's the video:

I think the Johnny Cash version is sort of neat because I respect him and the video has some neat old footage, but just the same, I prefer and appreciate the original more.

Seems to be some music ... not Johny Cash. All of the guys look too much like a high school music teacher for me to download.

Er... I don't see it here. Just some poorly designed website featuring a cowbow hat and a guitar.

Well, I just watched the Hurt video (on losthighway.com).

Now, I admit that I don't know the NiN version, but I'm betting that it's just Trent Reznor being a whiny little bitch about how much he hates his life as a multimillionaire rock star.

Whereas, Johnny Cash's song is about getting old, about not being the invincible, indestructible person you once were, and about outliving your friends. So it's sort of about outliving yourself, too. I think it's brilliant. Anyone else?
