I really didn't. I am not sure if this is because, a lot of the time, I was in a university setting that was crawling with Americans (so we were not a novelty) or if everyone was just polite or what. For all I knew, there could have been much anti-American sentiment passed around as soon as I left a room or something.
But it was great being "The Foreign Guy" for a couple weeks. Imagine any time you've met someone from Germany or Wales or something in this country, and how little you expected out of them. That was me! I got to be that guy.
