Well, cool. It's good when your girl gets along well with your friends, and I am happy to pump it up. My only PROTIP for others it to ensure that before handling a frisbee that the dog has whizzed on, ensure the frisbee has been adequately hosed-off by the dog's owner. Chucking it around otherwise would have probably resulted in quite a different reaction.

Chinchillas rule. What about a nice pet rock though? One you can use to brain the other pets/girlfriends when they get out of hand =) I'd suggest a platupus, but they're venemous.

Make sure that you don't mess this one up. (But not if it involves not getting a parrot. You getting a parrot would be the coolest pet decision of all-time. Much like how Aaron said, "You only get one chance at life -- I wanted a city bus, so I bought a city bus," I hope you realize the same thing when it comes to getting a Polly there.)

Yeah, the whole parrot idea has toned back a bit. I just haven't read many good things about them. LOTS of maintenance, attention, etc. I already have a girl and dog who tax my resources... a parrot might put me over the edge. But I'm not ruling it out yet!

I would just like to add that Blue bought me my last paid for game, Rallisport, when I definitely needed it.
Finally got the "ultra-pro" levels unlocked. Can't do SHIT in em though. Still love the game. (although the bump-mapped roads will lose their charm as more games come out with that, like MotoGP)

I will re-up the "Many Deaths of Jolt Country" soon. I still have it; I burned it on a CD so that when I experience my annual hard drive death it would not be affected.

I was working on an essay for the interactive fiction book that will be coming out, and it ended up taking me like 12 hours from start to finish. It was the first "report"-style thing that I have done since I completed Technical Writing at MCC in 1998 or so. Although I hadn't used quotes from a Justice League graphic novel to illustrate any points for Technical Writing.

With that in mind, I can turn attention back to releasing the fixed version of Hammurabi (as mentioned in the Hugo base), adding the scenes Ben gave me to his video game, finishing up the game that you and Kingsman are in, and getting some actual "features" up on the site. (The link to the "features" on the main JC page currently isn't active.)

CNN had decided indeed to support us, and I'd like to show them that they did the right thing.

Well - you could just create a table in the (I'm assuming your using MySQL with phpBB) MySQL DB, populate it with a variety of 'Whatta Wimp!' texts, and read those into ecordSet objects via ADODB and output the text with a javascript ONCLOSE function into a pop-up...

That'd be where I'd start...

That's really solid, man. I'm glad things are working out for you. I was looking at Salt Lake City in some degree of depth when I was trying to find my current job and it seemed like a solid place to raise a family. (As opposed to the liver-crippling college town I am currently in, which I guess is a good enough town to drunkenly and sloppily create a family, I suppose.)

I hear you on the logoff thing, actually. I don't know how to recreate that, outside of a pop-up window that appears on exit that says something to the effect of "Whatta wimp." I do mean to get the quotes that appeared after the mailbox line randomly appearing on the main site, though. (I mostly just need to find some HTML and/or Javascript lines that will plop it up there.)

Currently, I'm in SLC, Utah, working for Certiport Inc as a Network Engineer though I'm moonlight as an Internal Applications Developer for same company. I moved here to support my family after the .bomb crippled the market here and my father lost his job. However, all Ais well.

Working for the company fomerly known as Cyrix can't be all bad - it's a paycheck right?

Really - I'm glad to see JC still running, and I'm glad that it still gives tribute to Zork. However, I miss the logoff display...

On a whim, after finding my copy of Jolt Country comics tucked away in a box, I googled 'the great online empire'.

Much to my surprise, I found joltcountry.com, and WHOIS confirmed my hope that it was registerd to Robb (RobB).

I'm glad that JC, the icon of the Western NY computing scene has returned, and I hope that you all are doing well.
