Yeah, if I get one it'll be the 3GS (3Gs?). I hear the camera is much better on the 3Gs which is one reason I'm interested. I also like the idea of the GPS and some other things.

It's funny, I had no hesitation about jailbreaking my iPod but the idea of doing a phone makes me nervous.

I still have the iPhone. It's fine.

I was just trying to run a mobile programs experiment. I am hesitant to talk about the specifics, because I end up discarding a lot of potential projects. It's much better to simply announce the ones you've completed. That's all. You guys all have pretty advanced old phones, I just really needed something shitty that was in the discard pile.

I was going to through eBay as a last resort. I just hate dealing with everything involved with everything over there.

Flack, I'd skip the 3G and go straight to the 3Gs if you're going to jailbreak yours. The "speed" of the 3G is terrible. Re-reading your message, you have given no indication that you might get the previous model, and that is good. I can't remember if I have the 3G for one year or two before I am entitled for a free upgrade through AT&T, but I'll be getting it the instant I can.

ICJ, didn't you have an iPhone? What happened?

My wife wants an iPod Touch real bad and I'm considering giving her mine and buying an iPhone 3GS.

Holy Shit Jonsey! are you really that strapped for cash??? They should just call home arcades "basements that you throw money into", like the old boat joke I guess. I've got an unlocked Treo 650 that I'm using as an alarm clock that I could send to you (my G1 sucks really bad at being an alarm clock). I'd have to buy myself an alarm clock though and I was thinking of selling it for fourty bucks on craigslist in a pinch. I'd be happy kick in some money for a Jonsey used phone fund anytime, just someone give the word.

I have a Palm Treo 650 that I used for Cingular. I am not into phone hacking; can it be unlocked and used on T-Mobile?

Sorry man, no dice. I tore the basement apart and came up empty handed. Marcie just got home and she thinks she sent it back to one of those phones for troops programs.

We do have a bunch of Cingular phones, and some pretty nice ones at that. I should have 2 samsung a640's too (Sprint) but I didn't see those either.

OK, I'll see if I can dig it out today. I've got to go on a recon mission for a computer fan to replace one in Marcie's PC that died the other day, and it's likely in the same box.

No no, that's perfect. You will have my undying gratitude. I will PM you my address! I'll Paypal you postage as well.

there's an old(er) Tmobile phone that I found in a parking lot awhile back. No idea whose it was, so I called Tmobile and they said send it back, I said send me a prepaid return label and they never did.

If you want, I can dig it out and it's yours. Can't guarantee anything fancy though.

I need a phone.
