Looks like Strong bought the games at Videotopia:

This is good news FOR ME. I want to come home for a weekend around Christmas and if the exhibit is still there, it's definitely something I want to go to.

... Ok, I officially now regret it.

Sticky pages!

Well, I'm sure I'll regret this, but I'll come correct. I had a crush on the female sea monkey when I was a little kid.

I was looking for the micro army guys in a cool cardboard footlocker advertisement. Or the sea monkeys with the milf.

I love the last picture. THe "make 2 to $10 a week"

The only "work at home" scheme I've ever seen that was honest and upfront about your potential!

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Tue Aug 11, 2009 8:49 pm

nnnghhhhh coolness overload! I can't EVEN process this right now, I need more time!

Thanks for the awesome photos. This is amazing.

This might require a return trip when it's finished

They had a Pole Position cabinet with clear sides and back so the uninformed could have a peek at the innards

Image

they even had a Zoo Keeper!

Image
Front panel looked in good shape but the coin door was messed.
Image

Side art was messed up a lot, though.

This is me attempting to play Discs of Tron in a not-so- sit-down cabinet. I had never played it before but had heard good things about it.

I am really not a mass murderer, no matter what my facial expression might be. The game was laughing at me.

Who could forget this Atari classic, before they had actual players.

They also had the programmers notes posted so you could see how they developed the game. like this one from Robotron

What game did they have in the 2600? I can't tell.

When I went, it was Pitfall. Great that they have the atari on free play, it's one of the best kept secrets for when you run out of quarters. No one wants to touch it because it looks ancient. I had the same one.

(reply from AArdvark: I think it was Pitfall. i was too busy taking pix and just looking at everything to play it.)

by AArdvark » Tue Aug 11, 2009 6:28 pm

they did have a neat selection of dead systems. Including this one.

Stolen right off my parents faux-wood coffee table!

Another weird system that lasted fifteen minutes in the real world.
Image

Lovely wood grain plastic is the height of fashion for these console systems
Image

I don't know what this one was but it came with dice and play money! must have been something nice.

When they start putting stuff that's in your attic into museums it means you are getting old. Didn't see the ET cart..

Image

and the new sleeker look of the 2600.
Image

Think they were pushing the nostalgia a little hard?

Side art from some game called Q-something.....

I was surprised how beat up some of these machines are. I thought they'd all be fully restored or at least in great original shape. I did notice that all the 'good' games were more worn than the crappy games that nobody played. Funny thing.

Image

more side art. This from a sinistar.
Image

One of the cool things is the interesting facts they post by the machines.

I have never seen this game before. Must have come out right after the movie. kinda stupid, actually.
