*I* like paying to get infuriated. Sad face!

What a mess. I completely forgot once I hit the "submit" button on this website. I really need to get a computer monitor with the right inputs for the 360, because with it on the floor it's like I don't even SEE it its womb is so POLLUTED I don't even SEE it

the whole 'free gold' thing was a colossal failure, netflix didn't work which is one of the main things I wanted to try (want to make sure it can stream over the wireless OK)

I even gave up and decided to play Halo 3. Almost 300,000 people playing online and the ranked matches didn't work.

Way to fuck up a good idea, Tmobile and Microsoft. You really made me want to pay for this service that doesn't work. I like paying to get infuriated!

My friends and I had a rather embarrassing weekend. We got together to link our 360s for the first time and had to try multiple games to get it to work. In the end we had to call my friend's nineteen-year-old son over to come troubleshoot. Turns out my friend's son had updated his Gears of War 2 online and since I don't have Xbox Live, mine was not updated, which was the problem. He then put his Xbox Live account on my 360, updated the dashboard and Gears of War 2, and we were able to play after only twenty or thirty minutes of downloading and installing stuff.

I'll try to have it my 360 logged in then, this weekend.

Lex got me a month of Gold membership, but it has expired. I will pay the money for a year's subscription, but I hate the idea of paying for that shit. I don't even have a good argument. It's free for the PC (and PS3, I think?), it should be free for the 360. I'm sure that this attitude has middle managers all along the chain clucking their tongues in irritation, but I don't care. It seems very nickle-and-dimey of Microsoft (Microsoft!) of all companies to grovel for some quick cash that way.

Oh yeah, and why I hopped on JC:

If you've got an xbox and want to play a game other than Halo 3 or the latest version of Madden, hit up StillJackStraw.

Until Monday morning 1AM, then I'll be back in hermit mode.

...I was excited to see that it was a free xbox live gold weekend so I could stop being a hermit and play some games "online" in the real world.

Then I was severely disappointed that "quick find" found no games for Joust, Robotron, or mufuggin GAUNTLET. THen I waited about 10 minutes each hosting my own game on each before giving up.

How completely lame is that? The console wars are over, Xbox is synonymous with video games. There are millions of teenage bastards full of angst in their parent's basements with headsets strapped on their heads shouting racial epithets that just don't make any sense - and not a single ONE of them is playing ANY of the 3 classics that I tried firing up?

Sad, sad, stuff - it's almost funny that they expect you to pay $50+ a year for this "service". Almost funny, in that I wish I could laugh.
