I like multiple lives. Also, let's not skate over that issue - different people are entering the Sanctuary. I am sure it's been done elsewhere ... but I can't remember when, and it's been a long, long time since I've seen it.
(God, that sentence is so unfair to the developers. "I know I've seen your brilliant decision to have different characters represent the three lives, but I can't recall when. Believe me, if you two guys who made it are out there, I realize I made a cunty statement. This is a case where the people talking about your game are beneath contempt. I will try to make everything I say after this better.)
Tdarcos, you make a good point about the pixel graphics. I think it was a very conscious decision for them to have shading and light sources, however. I think that games like Shamus and Berzerk would have done what S-17 did, if they could have done it at the time. But back then, your choices were limited to displaying the sprite or not displaying the sprite. I also really like the merging of retro graphics with some art elements the devs have access to today.
I'll ask them about the computer consoles. Maybe it was unintentional!
