And that's not all!

There is this rectangular board on top of the machine that comes off, for some reason. Mine is missing.

The summer of 2013-2015 was a quiet time for Mr. Do!.

OK, here's the list of stuff that needs to be done to get it in shape:

1) Someone put a Mr. Do! circular decal on one side. Even though the side art isn't showing because it's crammed between two games, it'd be nice for that side art to be on BOTH sides.

2) It doesn't have a back door.

3) It doesn't have the high score kit installed.

4) It is lacking the graphic for the bezel.

5) There is a graphic that appears deep in the cabinet. I'll get pics. I don't think anyone has ever reproduced it. Mine is missing it.

6) The control panel mine has is for Bomb Jack. I do have a proper Mr. Do! control panel, though installing it won't be fun.

7) Both my boards have the speed-up ROM installed, which I do not care for.

So far, I have the RAM, the 2764s, the ROM burner and an EPROM eraser.

(The EPROMs I purchased were not blank, so my attempt to program them did not work.)

I could probably get started on at least getting the high score save installed. I think I am going to use the Jizaboz method of chip removal: cut the chip, desolder the legs, then add a ZIFF socket with the new RAM and solder the socket to the board.

(I am not sure if Jizaboz uses a ZIFF socket, but I like calling things the Jizaboz Method.)

I got the first part in.

From this page, I got two EPROMs:

Two 2764 EPROMs. I will be putting the high score save info on that. Really, the only part of this I am worried about is desoldering the RAM on the board. Luckily I have two Mr. Do! boards. :/

Other stuff should arrive next week.

Dig Dug is by far better than Mr. DON'T (ha ha!! ZING.)

By far.

In every respect.

I made a swap - my old Mr. Do! (which was a converted Qix) and some cash for a dedicated Mr. Do!.

The dedicated Mr. Do! has a ton of things wrong with it. We will be exploring the long path this machine takes over the summer in this thread.

If there's anyone out there that thinks that Dig Dug is better than Mr. Do!, please logout or identify yourself right now. You can use "Mr. Wrongperson" as a handle.
