What with getting Residual in a good place within the last year or so, I would have been happy if they had just wrangled the rights enough to sell the game at gog.com, but yeah, this is great news, too.
The original game is still kind of perfect for me so I'm not entirely sure how I feel about a "remastering" but we'll see. I think Tim Schaefer has said that he'd want to do a sequel if there were enough interest, and while I'm not sure a sequel could even be as good, it's still exciting that this remaster could spark the possibility.
I still watch this longplay of the game about once a year just because it covers all of its gems so well:
