How the fuck has Paul ruined every thread on this BBS for five years and then ignore the one thread where we needed him most?

He loves that joke!
That's true. Sure, I give him a hard time now and then, but at the end of the day, he's a just a big ol' dog food eatin' crepe cookin' machine.

Calling him a joke though's a bit harsh in my opinion. Your words, not mine.

Siccing the Commander on him is brilliant. A series of MP3 clips of the phone messages would make for awesome content.

Why don't you phone him? Give him two calls. First:

"I know what you did with the harnesses."

24 hours later:

"I will come and find you."

Then go to his house and hang a notice on his door, written in thick, red, messy ink:

"Ship them."

If you're not a psycho, then of course don't do any of that. But you only live once, dammit.

Oh, I am definitely the fool here.

It was a crystallization of how I was on a bit of a hot streak. Nothing was going wrong for me. I was a fool.

I paid the guy with Paypal as a "gift" - to save myself 3% in fees. Idiot! I will never do that again. I can't do a chargeback.

The thing is, I did a search on the guy's posting on KLOV and he was shipping a few other harnesses for other projects in recent times just fine. If you read about his Usenet adventures, he did eventually get square with everyone, although it took over a year for him to do so in some cases.

I don't appreciate being ignored, however, which is why I would enjoy enlisting the services of the big man. Our cleanup hitter.

So I see it as such: Tony Dailey has a choice. He can either give me my money back and this all goes away. Quietly. With no hard feelings.

Or... he can ignore the issue at hand. He can whittle away at the harnesses and try to come back in a year with them complete and a, "Boy! You guys sure missed me! I have all the harnesses finished, though! Everyone's shipping addresses still the same lol?" thread.

If he chooses the latter, I understand. In another life, I might have chosen the same.

He will simply have, as part of what I will be calling his new "Dailey Routine," Commander fucken Tdarcos personally reading The Takeover Man into his family's answering machine -- one chapter at a time -- immediately before suppertime.

Oh, I see a question in the back. "One chapter a day?" someone seems to be saying. "And you think this whole thing may go a year? Maybe you haven't considered him outlasting you? Outlasting the pages of the book??"

To which I say... it's been considered, all right.

It's been considered.

Maybe do a Google search before you pay a guy, just to see if by any chance he's been screwing people over for the last 16 years.

Well, that link doesn't work, but it's a link to a Usenet conversation (rec.games.video.arcade.collecting) from 1998 between people who just got ripped off by Tony Dailey.

Hi there! I'm your SysOp, Ice Cream Jonsey. You may remember me from such adventures as, "People used to post here."

A few months ago, a guy named Tony Dailey wandered onto the KLOV Arcade Forum. He said that brand-new Q*bert harnesses are finally here! Displaying a photo of one, he was ready to take money from people and start sending 'em out!

I'm sure that KLOV has made this link as difficult to view to the outside world as mechanically possible, but what the heck: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=315177

"They're finally here!"

15 suckers gave Tony Dailey anywhere from $185-$250 for the wire harnesses. In the meantime, here's what we've gotten for our money:

1) No harnesses
2) Tony completely disappearing from KLOV
3) A bunch of people wondering where the fuck he is.
4) A triumphant comeback right as the deadline for Paypal refunds came about! "It's great to be so missed!" he lolled!
5) Assurances that the first harnesses wer going "out next week."
6) No goddamn harnesses
7) A decision to not go anywhere near KLOV.
8) A decision to willfully ignore the e-mails I've sent and the Paypal "request for money" order I sent him
9) A complete lack of balls or being a man about this.

Well, we managed to find out his address and phone number and Facebook account and whatever else. OK, I'm not saying it wasn't just out there, but still, it's all going to be posted and so much more if the guy doesn't give me my goddamn $185 back.

Oh... and for anyone who made it this far, getting doxxed is not all we're going to do. Because...

Paul, please check your e-mail.
