Or am I wrong, are PBS and NPR both government funded?
I don't know why I didn't answer this sooner. You are completely wrong. A small amount of federal funding via the Corporation For Public Broadcasting goes to help support the PBS network, and some toward some shows. Local PBS stations have to depend upon donations to cover their costs and the money they PAY PBS for the programs they get.

Local stations have to beg, they do not get public funding.

I gave $138 to Paul's post office.

Bullshit.

In your case, the two subjects you are not qualified to express an opinion on, are: anything and everything.

Your joke would have been better if you said you gave Oklahoma Public Television $136.
Disagree! It is funnier to think that Flack did a slightly better job supporting PBS in your neighborhood than you did. Especially since Flack cannot benefit in any way, it would only to have the upper hand on you.

I am sorry I had to explain a joke. Sorry, everyone.

Well that's the thing about supporting public broadcasting, Paul. It's not competitive.

I gave Maryland Public Television $135.

I just donated to PBS so I am gonna brag about it

This poor guy is out braving the elements tonight. It's so cold my USB dongle that tells me when it's below freezing stopped notifying me.

Dude loves himself some PBS. I remember watching Red Dwarf, Black Adder, Dave Allen at Large, Monty Python and the Red Green Show on PBS over the years. Before HBO or AMC, PBS had the best collection of shows ever. Actually, it probably still does.

So the guy said a membership was $60 which I wasn't going for and he was nice to the dogs so I directed an amount less than $40 but more than $20 to PBS. Not a huge amount but it's more than any of you pay for shows, you thieving pirates, so this is my thread to reflect on what a great guy I am.

Damn! I shine!
