If it makes you feel any better, I made up the part about gaining editing privileges...also, Sizzler overcooked my steak a little bit.

And as far as writing the next great American novel, most Americans are illiterate and wouldn't even be able to read it anyways. Just write something with a lot of dick jokes, keep it below the 3rd grade level, and you will be our nation's next poet laureate before you realize it! Good Luck!!

That it does... not so much because of the lack of editing, but more because, instead of writing the next great American novel, I spend my days talking with (among others) a guy impersonating a dead guy who was best known for selling things such as the "Grater Plater."

Funny, I always thought of Aldi's as a discount store for the elderly. The two times I've darkened their doorway I've always seen old people in quantity there. Not for sale, I mean, just you know, shopping.

Don't think there's much market for old people, even at a discount.

I bought a 3' call skeleton from Aldi's for $50. I wasn't going to, but it said "1/2 price!" and I thought "Hot damn, that's a good deal!"

I've never bought steak from Aldi before but when whole frozen ducks go on sale there I usually grab 2 of em. Produce is cheap there too

I like Aldi's. I bought a box of filets from them a while back and found them thoroughly mediocre after grilling them. I can not remember what brand they were, but I remember for a fact that the ones I purchased did not have bacon.

The ALDI chain of supermarkets - http://www.aldi.us - has a very special steak, or maybe it's not steak since their ad says something different, but here it is:

Cattleman's Ranch
USDA Choice Bacon Wrapped Beef Chuck Tender Filet

The 10-ounce package consists of two fillets wrapped with bacon. They are great, and I'm not even that big a bacon fan. But these are delicious, and at $4.50 they're an excellent value.

The only problem was, while they were very tasty and juicy, they seemed a bit chewy. The package says bake at 375 for 25 minutes, but what I have done is soften them, after I take them out of the freezer, doing them for about 2 minutes in the microwave - instead of the 30 seconds I used to use - to make them easy to slide out of the plastic package.

I also increased the cooking time to 28 minutes and they came out perfect. Cuts and chews easy, delicious flavor and no problems. I just put a little steak sauce on them to make them pop.
