I really, really want a Vectrex. Not in a Coleector's Harcode way (cos I'm not spending $1,000 per game), bus I sure as hell want to try it.

And the Amiga versions of any games that came out in that period kick so much ass compared to their counterparts; you can only really enjoy Gods SpeedBall and Magick Pockets on an Amiga 500.

I got a Tandy 1000 that you can have. I picked it up at a garage sale for 4 dollars. that included a printer.

DUAL 5-1/4 FLOPPIES! Can't touch that much storage!
whoo-hoo!!

Anyway, it's lurking in the basement. i got the semi transparent covers with it and a bunch of disks that I havent even looked at. maybe I'll set my 15 year old up on it so he can learn DOS, (yeah, right. who am I kidding?)

Let him see how it was back in the day..

OK, the other one would probably work best as a sort of "who is coming and when" sort of thread.

Here, I'll investgate what my goals for the actual expo would seem to be. Lately I have been playing the hell out of an Atari 8-bit and 5200 emulator for my Dreamcast. And the games are incredibly fun. Having thousands of them on a disc doesn't suck much, either. So perhaps it's that same sort of experience that I'd enjoy having in a different form.

So, possibilities include:

o An Amiga. What kind? Are they for sale there? More -- can I take the hundreds of disk images that I've got and get them working in a manner that an Amiga 1000 or whatever would be able to process?

o An Atari ST. OK, here I don't actually have a bunch of disk images for it. But goddamn did good games come out for this thing.

o A Commodore 64. A big maybe here, as I actually had a C64 once (I think it was Straw's?) and left it at Walrustitty's house, so I already have a huge strike against ownership. I definitely had no way to get disk images to the system itself. (The ST and Amiga using 3.5" disks is huge in its favor.)

o Consoles.... maybe this is my best bet. Dunno. I would love a Vectrex, again, if I could get games for it.

o Intellivision. It sucks because the controllers die on it way too easily. Plus, I've got the "Intellivision Lives!" thingie. Eh, we'll see.

It occurs to me that I have no real idea if stuff like the ST and Amiga will be there in full force. Guess it's time to do some research.
