Do you even realize that it's not really a thread where we're actually noting the fact that you haven't yet died from a massive heart attack before a certain famous person. It's like an opposite dead pool with literally only 3 opportunities for any fun at all. There is the sort of race to be the first one to post one, kind of like yelling "first", and then if by chance someone here hasn't seen a particular death there's the "fun" of either you recognize that person or you do a couple of clicks to figure it out. Third is the opportunity for stupid jokes or uncaring expressions of surprise.

There's almost nothing left about the internet that is surprising or takes any work to look up so please to get with the program with that stupid thread.

Wrong. A military outfit or particular soldiers only carry weapons if they are in combat, a fighting area or are escorting prisoners. Soldiers on military bases are not allowed to carry weapons off duty unless there is a known threat. A soldier or group traveling in a military automobile will not be carrying weapons. Haha good one! You know what I mean though.. like how they would skip floor 13 in a lot of buildings and stuff. But I don't know how much faith I put in people following that tradition so strictly. Carowinds amusement park had a raft #13 in use at the Raging Rapids ride in the late 80s.

But yeah I completely agree with the your last statement. A lot of people don't realize that NASA is in fact a military agency.

The only reason we went to the moon and conducted space missions was to thumb our noses at the Soviet Union. If you notice, once the Soviet Union imploded and Russia stopped being much of a threat to the United States, funding for NASA was cut drastically.

You might not be aware of this but NASA was not a civilian agency, it is a military agency.

It's mostly the Van Allen belts and how the astronauts would have become crispy space bacon if they tried to pass through them.
I brought up the Russians independently monitoring the Apollo missions and how they certainly would have cried hoax if there was any fakery. His response was......'They were in on it'

At that point I changed the subject.
