I wouldn't worry about it, in terms of rushing it, I mean.

When PTX and I get back together we'll get his Shenmue article all set, and I'll get that Jinxter review I've been threatening to do finished.

I'll try to have the comments up Sunday night.

by Worm » Sat Jun 28, 2003 1:14 pm

I did a bit of a Rising Zan review. It was so pathetic I cannot let it leave my drive yet.

sry. k?

You know, when I come up with these sorts of stylized posting techniques, it's with the express understanding that they be used for GOOD, and never for EVIL.

And now James Bond is here using them for EVIL.

And, as it turns out, I actually prefer that.

Hey, Robb! How's update week going?

Yeah, that went up at about 12:00 MST on Wednesday...

Eh, it's OK. I know that PTX is thiiiiiiiis close to having his entry ready, so we'll either have that and my content tomorrow or just my content and PTX's Shenmue essay real soon. Seeing how I was originally just going to do this week with three entries on MWF, we come out ahead even if we do nothing else.

by James Bond » Thu Jun 26, 2003 1:28 pm

You haven't uploaded my X-men review, right? Can't you use that for now? Or am I completely misreading the situation?

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Thu Jun 26, 2003 10:57 am

Okay! Excellent!

Anyone else?

by Worm » Thu Jun 26, 2003 10:50 am

I could bang out a review of Rising Zan: Samurai Gunman later tonight. Wait maybe my review is still on Gamefaqs.

Nope, maybe I never wrote one.

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Thu Jun 26, 2003 10:46 am

Hi! I blew it. I was hoping to get back with PTX regarding his Shenmue article, and I didn't end up doing that.

If anyone has anything even remotely approaching an IF or video game article and would like hundreds... sometimes, even a thousand eyeballs viewing it, get with me ASAP. It's still technically "Thursday" on most of the planet.

All right, I'll ask a fucking question:

Is that Undisclosed Location In The Arizona Desert actually Sitting On Top Of A Landfill of Crushed E.T. Cartridges?

If you hadn't posted that, I wouldn't have realized my error.
It's just... man, I know you all think I'm a "big sloppy pussy" or whatever, but MAN has this been a tough week.
Wait. What?

Ah, fuck it, you're all probably right.
Look Charlie, I guarantee you that right now Jack Straw isn't poring over the message you wrote to him and having all sorts of "self" moments. Why are you essentially doing the same?

And how are you enjoying "Update Week" so far? Has it done anything to, even temporarily, dull the throbbing pain of your broken heart?

There will be three "spoilers" posted below. Two applicable to the thread in question. One... possibly not.

Can you guess which is which?

o I... was Nobby Nobody

o Keyser Soze is Kevin Spacey.

o You're dumb, very ugly, and nobody likes or trusts you.

Oh.

Ah.

I thought you were genuinely asking.

Shit. Well, this is embarassing, needless to say.

Now, ahem. As far as I know, no, there aren't any winabegos in the game, nor are there light posts, however there *are* tall buildings you can throw people off of, and there is a stage that's in the middle of the street, so it could be possible and I just haven't had it happen yet.
Gotcha.

And when I made the "knife fight" remark I was actually referring to Wolverine. Maybe I shoulda said "barfights" instead. D'oh. No, Calisto isn't in the game. Psylok or however her damn name's spelled is in the game, however, but as a secret character, whereas *Betsy* is a regular playable character. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but aren't they the *same person*?
That is my understanding, yes.

That really puzzles me. As far as I can tell, they're the same character models with the same lines and the same moves and the same throws but different super moves. Maybe the moves do more damage with Psilac or whatever the hell because she's got a bigger sword, I dunno. (Oh, and...? Shut up.)
I haven't played the game, so I am just guessing, but as you probably know, Psylocke was originally a British girl with gray hair who had telepathic powers and who had no ability to fight in a hand-to-hand manner whatsoever. Additionally, though she (like every other female comic character this side of Amanda Waller) had a perfect body, but it was perfect like J.Lo's, not perfect like Callista Flockhart's.

At some point, some genius decided that Psylocke ought to be a Japanese (!!!!) ninja or samurai or something, so they gave her epicanthic folds, mastery with swords and completely switched around her body type. I mean, Christ -- make a new fucking character already. But whatever. Is the "Betsy" girl in the game wearing a pink outfit that looks like something an Arabian belly dancer would wear to work? If so, maybe this is what is going on.

What is the most popular review of the calendar year so far, Krippers?

Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:Somebody do me a favor: I don't want to take PTX's Full Throttle review off the first page because it's the single most popular page in my webspace aside from the JC front page. Also -- is Callisto in the game? If not, do you mean anyone specific in the following line:
Besides, how the hell is someone who has survived more knife fights than anyone else in the entire multiverse ever will expected to look?
I was going to link to whoever you are referring to here, if it's anyone specific. If not, I'll just link to a picture of Callisto, as she fights with a knife and is quite grotesque to both the human and mutant eye.
