I've been having so much fun with this lately, playing my old games again the way they were meant to be played even without original hardware.
PCem is an extremely accurate IBM PC emulator. Together with
Sound Canvas VA for SC-55 and
Munt for MT-32 emulation, if you go through the trouble of setting everything up correctly, you pretty much get a virtually 100% accurate DOS gaming PC.
And with the right shader, you even get CRT phosphor emulation:
