I got feedback yesterday about how I complain all the time. I am trying not to! Why do I do that??

Everyone is miserable.

I forgot to write this when I got back from North Carolina:

We had a wonderful time. Our trips to NC have been largely the best of our lives together. We'd go back in a second. We were in the Outer Banks, a big tourist town, and being such, there were mostly tourist families there. There was one thread going through the entire trip, though, as we ran into these other families on (I'm guessing) their vacations:

Everyone is miserable.

Virtually every other time we were around other groups of people, there was always drama and misery going on. Breakfast the first day, the couple in the booth next to us were arguing about something which we'll never know the topic, but the woman was exasperated that the man wasn't listening to her and didn't care about her feelings, while he was saying, don't ruin my vacation with this! Very dramatic (and somewhat humorous).

I dunno what was going on with the group in the room next to ours at the hotel, but crying into a phone was a definite theme.

I took Mina mini-golfing. The family in front of us had to let us play through, because they had stopped to all argue and yell at each other on hole #13.

And a long list of other daily examples I don't remember.

We were, by far, the happiest people we saw while we were there, and while we're doing just fine, there's no way we should be the happiest people in a fun beach town like that.
