It's hot! I'll give you a warning. They ship it in plastic bottles because the sauce is so hot it dissolves glass ones.

I see now that you spoke to this already.
That magical mix of carrots, onions, lime juice, garlic and chiles is unmistakable, classic, and perfect.
I will do a better job of reading the posts of the community going forward.

No. It's weird to me that it's called "hot sauce", but I would love to try it.

I can feel the chemical burns from here. If it's too hot for you then I'm keeping well away. Hey, have you ever tried any hot sauce from the Upstate area?

And by hot sauce, I mean the stuff that goes on garbage plates, not just a pepper sauce

Those who hang on my every word, which I assume is all of you, know that Marie Sharp's makes my list of legendary hot sauces. So when I found out they started making a new one, "Red Hornet", I had to get my hands on it. It is marketed as being four times hotter than any of their previous sauces, including ones called "Beware" and "Comatose".

Along the main line of Marie Sharp's sauces, the recipe is virtually the same, with just differing heat levels. That magical mix of carrots, onions, lime juice, garlic and chiles is unmistakable, classic, and perfect.

Red Hornet brings those same flavors, but replaces the standard habaneros with their "hornet" chiles, which they say are a new cultivar, a cross between scorpions and ghost.

If you love Marie Sharp's, the initial taste is a comforting welcome home, and then look out. The "four times hotter!" thing is not a marketing ploy. Well, it is, but it's also true, and possibly understated. It is searingly hot, and at this point in my hot sauce career, I'm out of the "super-hot" game.

I love it for what it is. I love Marie Sharp's. This is their "super-hot", and I will likely never buy another bottle, but it's exactly what you'd hope for and expect if you wanted a version Marie Sharp's that could knock you on your fat, pimply ass.

I give it 10/10, and after that first spoonful, I doubt I'll ever use it again.
