DOOM 1 + 2 now supports mods multiplayer. Played Corporate DOOM II co-op a few levels the other night with friends who knew the people that did voice work. It was an awesome and surreal experience.

When I left the waterpark today my friend/co-worker Bryant said: "I checked out Corporate Doom II single player last night. The voices.." I could tell that part caught him slightly off-guard. LOTS of insane voices from different friends I had 20 years ago with absolute psychopathic direction. Said he played it on full difficulty and skipped levels just to check out shit. I was grinning ear to ear.

"Yeah bro.. a lot of drugs went into that mod."

Corporate Doom II is now 25 fucking years old.

Who's down?! Come on dudes. I understand how some of my local crowd is having a hard time warming up to trying MP DM in this but you guys are like.. DOS guys and stuff.

When is a good time for ANY of you to blast with super shotguns, rocket launchers, etc and bask in the nostalgia with me? It's only 3.99 for both til XMAS ffs.

It used to be SO frustrating. Telling people to download Doom Legacy version whatever (the first decent port with TCP/IP) AND the mod we want to play. The latter isn't completely solved yet for MP (I've seen some stuff in DOOM discord chans that may change this) but at least we can just jump in a game and start shooting each other in DOOM II MP levels instantly without BS now and the game actually play well.

I've been playing over the T-Mobile hotspot with zero issues and high frags. Fuck cable. Though MAN do I want Fibre heh. It is not available here due to the cable company local monopoly.

Doom 1 and 2 are cheap as fuck on Steam and now have this new thing where we can just.. connect to each other over Steam which for playing DOOM DM is a lot more dreamy than telling drunk friends in South (WORST) Carolina how to hook up a modern DOOM client.

Corporate DOOM can be played via the STEAM client for single player action but Zdoom, Doom legacy, etc is the only alt for playing full conversion mods multiplayer.
