From an article on rarenet.com:
Dan's been scrambling all day trying to get ahold of our friends at Rare, a task not made any easier by the Rare's monitoring of employee email and the eight hour time difference between us and Twycross. We were trying to hold off as long as possible to bring you the hottest, freshest, tastiest and most filling news possible. And I think we've got it.
That's got to be a great experience for the new hires.
"Hey, congrats! You now work for one of the most heralded video game companies in the world! Oh, by the way, we'll be reading each and every single e-mail you send and receive, you worthless little maggot, you."
For all I know this happens at every single Japanese tech company, but still, what a slap in the face. The more I learn about the actual companies that exist within the gaming sector the happier I am that getting my rocks off making text adventures. There was a time where I would have said, "I'll... I'll do anything to get a job in gaming!! OMG!!" but after a year of reading stuff like that and, more to the point, after a year of reading Fatbabies.com I'm not so sure.
