I used to play that game quite a bit. the trick was to get as many of the townspeople to tell you about upcoming bank heists as possible. You would have four different replies to any questions/ statements from the people, from mild and meek to asshole braggart. Of course you always had to shoot the last man no matter what you said.

Roody: you ever play "Law of the West" for the C64?
IceCreamJonsey: I haven't! What kind of game was it?
Snamley: you're the sherriff of a town. the entire game is dialog trees, except at any time you have the ability to push up on the joystick, unholster your gun, and shoot whomever you're talking to... which is useful when you've pissed someone off enough to draw on you... or you just want to amuse yourself by shooting children, women, and doctors
Roody: and the dialog options are often great, too
Roody: dialogue
Roody: well, I think I ought to go to sleep.

SONOVABEEEYATCH. Sorry about that, Roody. I drifted off to sleep there or something.

Shooting and talking? I must consume this video game. Emulators ahoy!
