Yeah, the Kingpin already knew. He's known for a while (in real life time) now. Karen Page sold the information for a heroin fix a few years back, and the information ended up in the Kingpin's hands. He toyed with Murdoch for a while to see if it was true. There is a great trade paperback which contains the issues in which all of that was going on. For the life of me, I can't recall what the name of it is at work rignt now... argh. But it's really quite an excellent story. Daredevil is one of those guys who just lends himself to incredibly solid four-or-five issue stories.

I picked up Issue #38 today. Not bad. It did my heart good to see the White Tiger back in action, then not-so-good once he was charged with murdering a police officer.

Unfortunately, his renewed hero career lasted only two pages! But damn, this guy's been in the inactive holding bin for YEARS! If my hunch is correct, he's been inactive longer than Lex has been alive! Chew on that one, folks. However, he appeared more Black to me than Hispanic. Oh well. Also, he married that Ayala broad he was dating back in Spectacular Spider-Man! Good for him. However, she appeared more Hispanic to me than Black. Maybe I skimmed through it too fast... I'll go back and take another look.

A minor rant: because nobody can draw anybody who looks remotely different any longer, I thought that the guy at the beginning of the issue was DD. It was in fact White Tiger. Maybe this was intentional. Dunno.

But anyway, in the previous issue we learned that Matt Murdoch is involved in a lawsuit with the Daily Globe, because they stated that he was DD and they will not settle out of court. Nothing happens in that plotline, but when White Tiger is accused of killing a cop, Murdoch is brought in to defend him.

It was a pretty good issue -- more "happened" than in your average Bendis issue of DD as of late. It's a good place to jump onto the series with.

(I do worry about Bendis a little, though, because there are two or three more issues before the Daredevil movie comes out. I can really see the brain trust at Marvel telling him to write a bunch of one-shot fist-in-face issues in time for some cross-promotion which normally would be the right decision to make, I guess, except that he has quite a nice storylin going. So we'll see what ends up happening.)

Haven't gotten to pick this one up yet, but I hear it features the White Tiger!! Is this true? C'mon Jonesy, you read this series, gimme the scoop brutha'!
