I had my first battle with writer's block a couple months ago. It made me sick. I immediately decided to drink and carouse as much as possible.

Actually, I think I just ended up having to work a bunch of 11 hour days, so the time I did get for writing became precious and with it now a commodity, I raced back to write more stuff.

Due to the power of the second and third draft, I feel better just writing shit down temporarily to get past the sensation you describe. When all else fails: drink.

Does it count as writing if you write one sentence and then just sit there for the next half hour staring at that sentence, with no idea what to write next?
