Have you been to one lately?
Beside this one of course.
Gamefaqs.com is a perfect example, people waiting for updates to be able to post simply "first, second, third, etc., ect." respectively for whomever got the first or second posts. People stuck in all out wars trying to prove WOTS(Way of the Samurai) doesn't suck.
Most other boards are no dream either. Solidsharkey.com's message board which I just left and most regular boards are simply asinine. Everyone is stuck in this sort of power struggle. Nitpicking constantly at people's most slight spelling, or grammar errors to prove they are smarter. I mean upping your self-esteem is cute ... but I was done with that game when I turned thirteen and beat Ys III.
Then, you've got those stupid images. Like a bus with "lamerz" on the side or a picture of a kid in a helmet with retard written on it. What the hell is it huh?
I can go on this message board post a message get feedback, a funny reply, or an insult and have not a hard feeling. Maybe, people on this board know how to behave themselves or maybe it is because there are less than twenty regulars ... I don't know.
Message boards, Battle.net, Half-Life in-game chat ... all of it is partly insane. Who truely believes "You fag" is going to resolve something? No resolution is ever wanted ... Message boards are just turning into somewhere you can go when your family gets tired of hearing your bitching so you go out to you're local message board and develop a God complex and go through some stage of life all over my discussion space. It's the internet ... it is basically pretend.
It's nice to see a message board where I can shoot out my hypocrisies and mispell monotonous and not feel like some fourteen year old is trying to realize his personality all over the board. It's nice to find a CS server were the local kid who sits in his home decked out in some sort of ËCKO gear or some Hot Topic safety pin crap calling everyone a cheater is ignored. It is nice to find a place were people aren't just violently going through some pyschological or developmental stage induced by puberty or some highschool angst.
I guess I'm just real happy to of found this board.
