The purchased game may be lost on me, as I was consistently having connection problems whilst running online DEFCON games. But as Game Nite currently remains non-RUINED and is still some several hours out, I have plenty of time to check out that DEFCON forum for a solution.

Although, if I remember correctly, they weren't exactly the most friendly or helpful group of players around.

Yeah you guys, come on. The more the years tick by the more I'm convinced that DEFCON is the best computer war/strategy game ever made that doesn't take 20 hours to play.
