I used Nero for this in the past. There's an option to turn AVIs or MP4s into DVDs. You just select the file and it does the rest. It takes a while because it does all the converting and stuff for you, but it's really a one-click solution. Nero Vision, I think.

There's another great suite by Ashampoo called Ashampoo's Burning Studio. For people that pay for software, I think it's around $40. Anyway, it'll burn "anything to anything" and also supports blu-ray. Same thing though, just click "Author DVD from File" or something like that, select the file, so get a drink and come back and it's done.

DVD Architect (part of the Sony Vegas bundle) will really let you get in there and make custom menus and do all kinds of fancy stuff, but if you're just wanting to get it on to a playable DVD, check out one of the above two.

I bought Jim Gaffigan's "Mr. Universe" special on his site. He said I can do anything I want with it as long as I don't give it to you monsters.

What's the best program these days for taking an MP4 (audio and video) and making a DVD out of it? I probably don't want to use Microsoft Movie Maker because everything of theirs is garbage lately. But I'll use it if that's the best one.

I will also look this up and report my findings.
